Be careful what you send back

So I done the Samsung trade in to upgrade my S10+ for the S22 Ultra. 

Received an email back to say I need to pay them £100 for a chipped screen.

I'm sending the 22 back and getting my old phone returned as I'm not paying for that.

You might need to zoom in a bit.

Email them and explain the situation, they may waive it for you. Just explain you want to keep the phone but don't agree that £100 be knocked of the price for such a small chip in the screen.

I think I paid £100 extra and mine was completely smashed.

I've just spoken to the recycle team and they are adamant that I need to pay the £100.
I'm annoyed with this to be honest as I've always looked after my phones (case and screen protector) and never saw it when I sent it out.

Always take photos and videos of the phone you are sending back. Preferably with the packing included. They are awful vultures.

That's the advice I always give.
Preferably with something like a dated newspaper or something else with the date on it as well in the photos if possible

Ask them the process to lodge a formal complaint, make very clear you didn't send a phone with a chip in it.

Just to check before I give you a long winded suggestion, did you get any discounts on the phone?

Yes I got a discount on the new phone from the trade in.

Weird that they want 100. I traded in an s10 5g which has a bigger screen, I marked it as having a broken screen (it has 3 hairline cracks all down it) before shipping and it only knocked 70 off the trade in price

If I had seen that damage I would of put it on the report, im an honest guy at the end of the day.

Didn't think I had too as it looked immaculate to me. Never had any problems with them before either.
