@LBBarley47: Is the issue persistent, or does it only occur under certain conditions, such as when you're using a particular app/feature, or when the screen is idle? For clarity, does the incoming call screen fill the whole display, and are you placing your finger on the green phone symbol, and swiping to the right to answer the call?
As a workaround in the meantime, please head to the Phone app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Answering and ending calls > Press Volume up to answer calls, and toggle this option on. This will allow you to tap the Volume up button on the side of your Galaxy A34 to answer any incoming calls.
You can also head to Settings > Accessibility > Interaction and dexterity > Assistant menu > Replace swipe with single tap > On, to see if this helps. Now, rather than swiping the green phone symbol to the right when a call comes in, you can tap the phone symbol to answer the call.

Same problem I faced when I bought F 54 in Nov 2023. From Day 1, Whenever I got calls , most of the times, swipe didn't worke properly. After swiping 8 to10 times , I could able to reply. Rarely it worked in single attempt. I visited two Samsung service centres but they also couldn't solve problem. Then I called on samsung customer care. One of a nice technician linked my device with his system and did some changes in setting. Them it started working satisfactory. But now after 7 months, again facing same problem. First time I bought Samsung phone and it is very bad experience. I will never recommend anybody to buy this problematic brand .

I too have that problem. Phone calls cannot be accepted or refused. Neither the green nor the red buttons work. However, if I happen to have the keypad on my screen, and the miniature answer screen appears at the top of the keypad screen, then those green and red buttons both do work. And also, the same problem appears with my Calendar reminders. The dismiss reminder button absolutely never works, but the snooze button always does work. So reminders can never me dismissed, but only snoozed. I am using a screen protector but it never interferes with any other function. I have had many cell phones over the last 3o years or so, ever since the early Blackberries came out, but I have never had a ridiculous failure. What an incr4edibly stupid flaw for my Samsung XCOVER6 PRO to have! I to would never recommend Samsung phone to anyone.

@OKXO: Are you making sure to place your finger on the green phone symbol when you receive an incoming call, and swipe upwards, or to the right? Similarly, for your reminders, place your finger on the indicator and swipe upwards to complete. I also recommend taking a look at the workaround provided in my accepted solution, which replace the swipe motion of some features with a single tap.

Same issue with me re phone, bought last week. Green/red button react to tap or swipe (so touchscreen is working) but nothing happens. Side buttons work; mini-answer screen also works. So it's a software issue of the Phone App. Cannot find out how to repair it or reinstall it.
