Galaxy A35 Screensaver and other issues since UI7 upgrade

I am the owner of a Samsung Galaxy A35 smartphone from T-Mobile Store.  Everything I use was working fine until some seven days ago.  I received the UI7 update (forced update...boo) and in the last week, have watched my phone degrade in performance, get hot way more than usual (Texas heat fries phones normally!), and the screen saver does whatever it wants.  The screen saver won't stay set to the mode I put in.  It's going off after 10 to 20 seconds (not even a setting available in configuration).  Slide up to open works when it feels like it.  Answering calls takes forever, with multiple slides up to get it to answer.  I've loved this phone for the year that I've owned it, but it's becoming a pain in the patooty to use.  Any thoughts welcome!

You're posting on an eu/uk server and I have a feeling you're american.

We'll still try to help, but you might get better help from the american forum.

Thank you.  The URL in Firefox has the US flag, so I assumed (yeah I know) that I was on the US site.  I'm glad you responded.  I appreciate any help.  The thing is driving me nuts! ;=)

For things to try. The classic "clear your cache partition" is the first thing I'd do.

Though realistically I'd probably just say wait. The one ui 7 role out has been a little buggy so there might not be too much you can do. An update might be the solution

The a14 got hit the worst with it

By the way, you’ve been transferred to me as our chatbot was unable to answer your query. Just a quick question before we proceed with your query, may I please also know if this is the first time you’re contacting about this query here on chat support?

I haven't heard from you for over two minutes now. Could you please let me know if you are still there?
‎6:31 PM
Not to rush you but it appears to have gone a little quiet. If you are still there, would you mind sending me a message to let me know?
‎6:32 PM
It seems that our chat has been disconnected Julian. Please reach back out, so we can continue providing assistance.

I would love to stay, however, due to the time that has elapsed without you sending a message, I would have to disconnect our chat. Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us again, and we will be more than willing to help. Have a great day! Take care.

Hi sorry. I'm reconnected.
‎7:34 PM

Thanks for coming back Julian.

My main issue is that intermittently i am unable to use touchscreen following a system update, meaning I cannot unlock my phone or answer calls. This issue had never occurred before the update. I half restarted the phone and cleared the partition cache.
Is there a patch or fix for this please?
‎7:36 PM

I understand. I will surely send this as feedback, so our engineers could review and send patch. You may leave feedback at Samsung Members app too. Is the screen not responding to touch intermittently?
‎7:38 PM
The update was One UI version 7, Android 15
‎7:38 PM
Yes, intermittently. I can unlock and use it, lock the screen and then go yo unlock straight away and it happens.
‎7:39 PM

Thank you. Do you have screen protector on your device?
‎7:40 PM
Yes, but I have tried with and without. Right now I am typing with the protector without issue, but earlier couldn't use the touchscreen at all and only got it working following another forced restart.
‎7:42 PM

I understand. Has the device experienced any physical or liquid damage?
‎7:44 PM
I haven't heard from you for over two minutes now. Could you please let me know if you are still there?
‎7:46 PM
No damage at all
‎7:46 PM

Thank you. Are you trying to use the device outside or in a cold atmosphere?
‎7:47 PM
No, not cold - standard room temperature.
‎7:48 PM

I understand. Perform a soft reset on your device.

Press and hold the power and volume down buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds.

Has this solved your issue?
‎7:51 PM
That's what I did earlier, and whilst it has helped I've taken this approach previously and the issue came back.
‎7:57 PM

This is noted. If you have case/cover on your device, I suggest removing for the meantime to see.
‎7:59 PM
I haven't heard from you for over two minutes now. Could you please let me know if you are still there?
‎8:03 PM
I'm still here
‎8:03 PM

Thank you. Have you tried removing the case/cover to see?
‎8:04 PM
It works with and without the cover now, but intermittently does not work. It seems to be a system issue in loading following the update.
‎8:08 PM
Various forums confirm same issues experienced by other users, which makes me think there should be a patch to fix this
‎8:10 PM

I understand. I will be forwarding this to our engineers for review and possible patch. I suggest leaving feedback at Samsung Members app too.
