I noticed that the samsung camera app won't work unless the "Nearby device" permission is granted. It will just crash as if the app cannot run without this permission, which is a nonesense.
Problem is, nearby device permission gives access to bluetooth scanning, which is a way to locate a smartphone (any other bluetooth device could be linked to a location) and therefore a privacy issue.
I understand that for some users wanting to share pictures over bluetooth, or connect to wearables, this permission could be usefull, but for others this is just a way to force them to accept smartphone location by Samsung.
Please Samsung, correct this bug !

Just set this up to say it's things like this that are pushing me towards going off the grid. Can't use my camera unless strangers can access my photos and data?? No thanks. Changed to Samsung to have more freedom.. There's nothing you can do guys.
If you really want to be shocked, tap an icon and press the I in the top corner to see all permissions or another way check what permissions you've gave certain apps, then look again in top right corner and see "all permissions" basically it's everything, they just give you the illusion you have control of permissions. Also don't get me started on alllllll the secret spyware and apps you have but don't know about and when you look they areprogrammed to not be seen. So dodgy. If it wasn't the only way to keep in contact with family I'd be gone. Think I'll be gone soon anyway. Going to the next level. As I don't believe anything the rulers of the world and writers of history have taught us, and if they say suicide is a sin then maybe its not and we get to leave this purgatory of lies behind.
Anyway, phones lie. They're spying on us to the point there are strangers that know us A LOT more than we know ourselves.
Anyway peace and love ❤️

"I understand that for some users wanting to share pictures over bluetooth, or connect to wearables, this permission could be usefull"
^^^^I don't even agree with this lol, like the fact that you HAVE to grant this permission to even open your camera app is sooo intrusive and unnecessary that it actually ****** me off. As far as people who use this feature often, it is still LESS useful, because if they want to not be visible to nearby devices at any point to keep their data and phone safe they then cant even take pictures or record videos or screnrecord or anything with galaxy stg camera which they do a lot of if they find the granted permission useful to begin with.
Anywaysssss, for me it's an absolute nightmare, bc my phone has malware on it currently and im going crazy doing EVERYTHING to rid myself of it, but when I have to allow bluetooth mics??? And location on constantly??? Just to use basic apps like the default camera??? Are you kidding?? What's even the point of having settings and options you can personalize if you can't use the phones most basic standard stock factoty direct apps like the camera lol.once you personalize it? Especially in my case where I'm putting in effort to keep myself and my privacy safe and Samsung Google and sudden carrier name changes from carrier "Verizon" to "Cellco dba in partnership wkth verizon" which is the agency in directly responsible for the verizona wireless L.E.R.T program. (Look it up. this should be illegal on verizons part)to STING RAY DEVICES used by local law enforcement agencies and federal gov. are making me so uncomfortable and literally terrified. I'm losing sleep and the keep connecting to alll my devices not just one no matter how many times I boot them they find a way back into my devices bc of little permission requests/settings like this and when they are in my devices for so before i catch it bc i have 3 phones they are able to grant access to remote device controls. They set permissions for these generic decoy news apps and games that are magically installed on my phone now and i can't even uninstall them to allow them to modfy system settings and it's so much. Plus it is extremely likely a third party app I have downloaded is being used and an entrance poinf. They send me hundreds of links a day via spam messages, calls, and emails hoping I click them and unknowingly grant permission. I'm trying to document all the evidence I have (there is a lot really....enough for a case against them for violating my fourth amendment right in a majorrr way) cause Like gov. And Samsung probably discussed and implemented an array of little functions like this on newer phones and updates just to make it extremely difficult for any individual to turn off quick share, near device scan, bluetooth, private searching, or vitrual private networks, device controls etc. all at once. I know just having my mobile data and service working they can see whatever but even though they do thisi it is INADMISSABLE in a court of law and ILLEGAL and I have a phone with no service on it whatsoever I have data usage and network off even tho it doesn't have any i have it off I have wifi off and yet I'm still gaining data usage notificstions and its connecting randomly but the phone im referring tonisnonly capable of 4g and the stingray deviceis probably attempting re-connect via 5g so the 4g network data doesnt stay connected long so what im more concerned and worried about the third party apps and/or data brokers. If they can spin it to seem as if they purchased info from apps just to collect random data and found this stuff about me which is legal for them tondo but not true. I just need to keep the evidence i have that proves i have been monitered illegally without granting permission or without a court ordered warrant to do so on multiple devices for weeks mow. Data brokers justcollect info that any app collects mostly info on what products to sell you?
When i try to open my camera it says verbatim:
"To use camera, you need to allow the following permissions in Settings."
Then it lists this:
"used to record sound through Bluetooth mics"
Permissions is plural...this is only one permission and I don't even really understand what this one means:
Is the mic on my phone a bluetooth mic??? Or is the bluetooth on my phone connecting to the mic on my phone? I may just be overly skeptical at but to me it sounds like it wants to use my mic to connect to a mic some distance from me so they can listen to audio in real time😭😭😭 i know I sound like a psycho conspiracy whatever, but I have the evidence and I'm posting everywhere in little forums like t hi is in case they take full control of my data and try to discard the proof. Which would help my case more so really. This permission needed to open my camera sucks because I need my camera to document everything's. And what I have been using primarily to capture and organize my evidence. It's like I'm fighting a battle as we speak and we're racing for control of the situation. Please if anyone has any belief in what I'm saying please message me and connect with me privately more effective ways of keeeping my devices secure. Please hhelp me I am exhausted and stressed and I need help. Even just someone to calm me down would be appreciated so greatly. Yes. I have a past and no im not oblivious to the why this may be happening I don't want to play victim or stupid but I don't want to be prosecuted illegally or know that my phone and privacy aren't private at all and that I don't have the same rights to my safety security and privacy as any American citizen. Like i said I'm just so uncomfortable right now and ineed to shake it somehow. Please/:
