after updating my A14 5G to One UI 7.0, my touchcreen doesn't work at all anymore.

How to fix this?

Don't give up yet!

I was onto Sammy Fans on X yesterday.

Possibility is a 3rd party app not compatible with UI 7

Suggestion was to run the phone in "Safe Mode " for a couple of hours and see if the prob was there.

I ran as such for 12 hours with no prob (unfortunately no WhatsApp in safe mode)

Now back in regular mode and prob occurred after 1.5 hrs.

Gonna delete some apps, 1 at a time, to see if there is a diff.
This will take a while

Please let us all know if you find the cause.

I expect it will take a while but we'll all be grateful!

Many reports of screen problems since ui 7 update on the A series phones.

Especially swipe to unlock not working all the time. Or it will work for a while then reboot needed to get it to work for a while again.

MIne works about 75% of the time - it should be 100% so really annoying

I cant use the phone to pay for things etc as sometimes it just wont swipe to unlock!

I tried to contact Samsung via an EMail address, and had this conversation (in two parts to fit 40,000 chars)

.....

Thank you for your reply. Please see inline below.

It's nothing to do with expectations. You have a product that has been rendered ineffective/unusable because of a software/firmware update. This is not a '...oh, I don't like the new UI....' type issue. This is a '...the phone doesn't work anymore...' type issue.

Your technical team has been contacted. They have provided no solution so far. Please understand the scope of this.
Mobile phones are used for most contact nowadays - if the UI touchscreen no longer works, the phone doesn't work. No emergency calls (no calls to police, ambulance, fire services), no calls or contact with vulnerable  dependants. This is not just an inconvenience.

Then provide a mechanism where your users can report serious problems like that that actually get a response. Make your users aware of such a service.

It's already had that effect with your customers. Please simply google this issue. Google 'Samsung phone issue with Android 15 and UI 7' and see how long this has been a problem. Then go here:
https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-a-series/samsung-a14-5g-touchscreen-doesn-t-work-anymore-...

and understand the frustration at your (Samsung's) total lack of apparent concern and action.

I have posted your response to the issue on the community forum above. I think it will get the same response there that I have just given you.

Ok so 'Part 1's have all now appeared at the same time - so I've edited them to a '.' as I don't see how to delete them.

Sorted that out for you, SteveTu. I've also edited out your customer reference number as that's classed as personal info that's best not shared publicly too.

On topic: We're still awaiting guidance ourselves on this issue. Any news (beyond sending error reports via the Members app) and we'll share it with everyone ASAP.
