I have a Galaxy A54 and after the recent software update my phone will not restart. It just shows Samsung Galaxy in white writing against a black screen constantly until the battery goes and it turns off. When I try to charge and turn it back on again the same thing happens.

Any thoughts beforeI send it off somewhere or if it can even be fixed?

Hi @Tara123  Can you get into Recovery Mode?  It is advisable to wipe the cache partition after updates, some cache files are outdated or may even be corrupt.  This process deletes the temporary files but keeps your Data intact.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer  Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

In Recovery Mode there are also options to Reboot,Repair Apps and Factory Reset for instance.

However if  proves not feasible to get into this mode then could well be something more serious and you would need to have the device inspected.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Sorry to hear this @Tara123

You could try the remedies in this link however they could result in a factory reset which means you'll have to set the phone back up.

Another option is to seek assistance from a Samsung Service Centre.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate to ask.  😎
