I would like to limit the charging on my Galaxy A21 phone to 80%.

On the "More battery settings" screen:

  • Adaptive battery
  • Show battery percentage
  • Fast charging

That's all.  No Protect battery setting.  The software on my phone is up-to-date (or so it says.  Android 12.)  What to do?

Thats a feature of UI 6.1 Android 14 which your model will never receive.

Why not?  Is there anything I can do (besides shutting the charging off manually)?

No. if you specifically want that feature then the only option is to upgrade to a newer device

I have an A21, not an A21s.

So, this feature is not available on any pre-13 Android?  The A21 is still for sale.

If the A21 has modes and routines you can set up a routine for it.

I used to do this with routines even before this was even a thing.

This is not correct, battery protection has been around before One UI 6.1.

Battery Protection Mode has been around since Android 12 although it may not have been available for all devices / manufacturers.

Would you please confirm the steps you have taken to reach battery protection mode?

I believe in Android 12 this was in Device and Care...

I thought the 80% limit was only introduced in the latest UI 6.1 update.
