Connecting to TV via USB c - HDMI

Hi

I am trying to connect my a41 to my Samsung smart TV via a USB c hdmi adapter but can not get the TV(QE43Q60RATXXU) to recognise the source therefore can't display the phone screen on the TV. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. What I'm actually trying to do is connect a Samsung J6 with a broken screen to the TV to see the screen however this didn't work so I subsequently tried the A41 and also a newer Galaxy (sorry don't know the model number) and none of them worked.
The J6 and A41 apparently support MHL but I can't get either to connect to the TV through this adapter.

Your J6 is not Dex, but i think it would ignore that and just display whatever is on your mobile to tv.
