I got my A03 last summer and have never been particularly pleased with the photos, the colours never appear 'true'. It is really noticeable when comparing to others taken at the same time. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there an easy fix that I'm missing? TIA

Try changing vibrancy and get itas close as possible to a better image otherwise actual scene

@Kissie: Please can you try opening the Camera app, tapping the cog in the top left, and enabling 'Scene optimiser', as this automatically makes your photos look brighter and more vivid. Now, tap the back button, select the magic wand symbol in the top right, and explore the filter options here to see if you can find one that helps to improve the colour accuracy in your photos.

Hello thanks for your response and I'm so sorry for the delayed response. Unfortunately I don't have a 'scene optimiser' option when I open the app. The magic wand filters do seem to help, it's a bright sunny day here so I'm going to take some photos to compare. Can you please advise about the scene optimiser? Thanks again.

@Kissie: If you have Photo mode enabled, and 'Scene optimiser' is not visible in the Camera settings when you tap the cog symbol, then the feature is not available on your device. Apologies for any confusion this may have caused. If you could let me know how you get on with the filtered shots, as well as which filters you applied to get the results you wanted, then that would be great :smiling-face:

Hello again, the photo on the left is taken with my phone. No filter. On the right taken with my husband's Samsung. No filter.
I will hopefully try later with filters. 20230709_143310_1000002877_1688909590.jpgIMG-20230709-WA0001_1000002882_1688909851.jpg

1. Kissie: I have the same problem! That's what landed me here. Trying to find help!
2. I don't have a magic wand symbol. What is another way to do it. I do have a funny two squares that remind me of sandwiches that I can access for Filter.
3. Try changing vibrancy: How?
4. Kissie: Do you and your husband have the same version of the phone?  If so, how did your husband's phone manage to take a rich photo, and yours didn't?!?!

Hello, unfortunately I haven't resolved it. Sadly, I'm not using the camera much, if at all now.
When I looked online it did say that the camera was weak on this model.
No, my husband does not have the same model.
Sorry, none of that is any help. If you do find a solution, please let me know. It's so frustrating.
I wish you luck and sorry I couldn't help.

Hi Kissie: I hope this helps:
At first, I was changing the settings on my camera app. Didn't work. Even when I looked at an object through the camera, my reds/oranges were muddy and muted. Greens were blue/greener than what I was seeing when looking at yellow-green leaves. Aquas were not being captured, and royal blues looked like navy.
I was upset because I'd just gotten my phone hoping that technology has evolved since I'd gotten my last phone about 7 years ago.
I learned that you could do some color editing by selecting the image and tapping the "edit" symbol (The pencil). But, I wanted to see the color before I even took the pic. WTF??

So yes, I am the nerd that will do all the online research to figure out what to do. Well, nothing helped, YouTube included.

So, I did some button pushing on my phone.
Here's where it gets great:

** PHONE SETTINGS ** DISPLAY **!!

So, not "Camera Settings". Phone Settings: Display.
There's lots of things you can adjust. One video suggested I use "Normal" mode vs "Vivid" mode, but I prefer "vivid", so I left that setting. Turned OFF "Adaptive brightness" and "Eye Comfort Shield".

Then go to "SCREEN MODE".
That's where you can select your preferred "white balance".
Then go to

ADVANCED SETTINGS. There you can further adjust your white balance from "cool" (blues) to "warm" (yellows).

Then, while you're in "Display" you'll come to options at the bottom of the page, "Side button" "language" and the one you want:  "VISION ENHANCEMENTS".

Click on that.

Go to "Color Correction"  (I turned automatic color correction OFF).
Options:
* DEUTAN (Green-red)
** PROTAN: (red-green)
*** TRITAN (blue-yellow)
**** Grayscale
I have mine set to the first one: Deutan.

If you go to "Color Filter" you can adjust each color individually, but that pertains to how your screen is viewed, not what the camera sees.  I turned my color filter "OFF".

And that's what I did.
Now, my camera sees what I see, and I CAN SEE!! My reds have depth and are bright as ripe strawberries. My greens look green, and my aquas aqua. My blues have richness, depth, and shades. My purples are purple as plums.  :smiling-face:

I know that was the long answer, but I really hope it works for you!!
