Cannot switch hotspot from 5gHz to 2.4gHz

I have a Samsung A40 and I want to use my hotspot to connect to an older nintendo console. Because it is an older device, I have to switch the band to 2.4gHz but my hotspot won't turn on after I have selected the 2.4gHz option. It tries to turn on but then switches off a second later.

The hotspot works fine when 5gHz is selected, the problem arises when I switch to 2.4gHz.

I have tried resetting network settings but this does not seem to help. Does anyone have any solutions for this?

I have the same exactly issue. It worked flawlessly before a recent update, but now it seems like they blocked the possibility to make a 2.4ghz hotspot.

Frankly it is stupid and ridiculous.

Same here, need to use the 2.4gHz to connect my tablet for work. Hope they fix it soon otherwise will have to look for another phone.
