A52s 5g makes weird sound

Hi!

I have had a Samsung A52s 5g for around a year now. I've had no issues with the phone until a few days ago. My back panel is slowly coming off, which honestly has been a problem for a few months now and slightly cracked on each side, exactly in the middle. I haven't really dropped it, so I thought it must've been a glue issue and nothing bad. I also searched on here and saw that it was a common issue, so I didn't think much of it.

However, a few days ago, around 6 or 7 days ago, my (back) phone camera started making a very weird sound once I switched to it. It never made this issue before, but it's almost like a clicking noise? It's not a shutter sound because when I take a picture, it's quiet. It's only when I switch to the back camera. Also, whenever I press near the camera/slightly under it, it makes a very loud, high-pitched noise. It also does it when I just have it lying down. it doesn't matter if it's facing up or down. I have no clue what it is. I know the battery is somewhat near the camera, but I've run diagnostics in the app, but it says my battery is fine, and I don't see it acting up either.

Does anyone know what this might be? Can it still be the battery, or is it the camera?

Thanks in advance!

Hi! @shadè welcome to the samsung members community!

This could very well be a variety of possible issues;
* Battery Swelling: Even if the diagnostics app says your battery is okay, it's possible it's starting to swell. Swelling batteries can push against other components, causing the back panel to separate and potentially affecting the camera. The clicking and high-pitched noise could be the battery pressing on something or even the camera itself. This is the most concerning possibility as swelling batteries can be a fire hazard. Do not attempt to open the phone yourself.

* Camera Module Issue: The camera module itself might have become loose or malfunctioned. The clicking could be a part of the camera mechanism failing, and the high-pitched noise when pressing near it could be related to the loose connection or a component rubbing against something.

* Loose Internal Components: The back panel separating could have allowed dust, debris, or even moisture to get inside, potentially loosening other components near the camera. This could also be related to the noises you're hearing.

What You Should Do:
* Stop Using the Phone if Possible: If the battery is swelling, continued use could make the situation worse. If you have a backup phone, switch to it.

* Do NOT Attempt to Open the Phone Yourself: This is especially important if you suspect a battery issue. Opening the phone yourself potentially cause further damage or even injury if the battery is indeed swelling.

* Contact Samsung Support or a Qualified Repair Shop Immediately: Explain the issues you're experiencing: the separating back panel, the clicking noise when using the camera, and the high-pitched noise when pressing near the camera. Emphasize your concern about a potential battery issue.

Prioritize your safety and get it checked by a professional as soon as possible. Don't delay, as a potential battery issue is not something to ignore.
