Is there a fix for this? Seems kinda stupid having to force power off and restart the PC to get the monitor to see the PC again.
Turned off the option to turn off the monitor for now in power settings, but it's OLED so ideally I want it to turn off after 15 minutes of no activity.

Only solution for me that works is to unplug power adapter from the monitor(or unplug it form the wall) wait a while and turn on the monitor on again. Only then it finds PC and display port

Same problem here. I have a samsung monitor with USB hub and thunderbolt power delivery. It does not detect thunderbolt signal after waking up. Funnily enough, the peripherals connected to monitor (eg. mouse) work perfectly after wake up...but monitor still doesn't react.
I'm shocked that problem persists for so long and Samsung didn't do a thing...

I went to play a game tonight (Doom Eternal), it's been working fine for the last two weeks, but I think my monitor updated to new firmware (1504?) and it cannot see the display port source at all.
Disgraceful. Samsung's support are beyond useless to assist. Have I purchased a $1400 lemon?

Issue still persists. It got worse somehow. Not every time when I power cycle the monitor it recognizes DP, so I have to do it more than one time sometimes.
Also one thing that bugs me is mini DP connector in monitor. I can't fully insert the video cable in it. I never had this problem with full DP connector.

The problem may be that DP is out of spec at 175hz 10bit. I used manual settings in nVidia control Panel to set it to 10bit even in SDR. When I switched to default nVidia settings it keeps it on 8bit in SDR at 175Hz and only changes it to 10bit for HDR at 175Hz. This seems to fix this issue of monitor not able to wake up and recognize DP. I have to test more. Switching it to 120Hz 10bit also fixes the issue.

How ***** is samsung.
I thought the issue was my GPU, the POWER cable of my RTX 4090 and then maybe the RAM.. (as freezes often comes from RAM) ..
And no it's that ***** SAMSUNG G8 OLED screen.
Shame on samsung !
The go around is to switch of the screen before having windows going to sleep mode and then wake up windows first THEN switch on the screen.
WAKE UP SAMSUNG !

So to fix the problem you have to go for HDMI 2.1 to mini hdmi.
What a ***** stuff samsung has done.
Anyway DP port is ***** by default
