Is there a fix for this? Seems kinda stupid having to force power off and restart the PC to get the monitor to see the PC again.
Turned off the option to turn off the monitor for now in power settings, but it's OLED so ideally I want it to turn off after 15 minutes of no activity.

Same thing happening for me with two different Samsung monitors:
S60A: I experience that they often struggle coming back to life and detecting signal when Windows comes back from sleep. Sometimes both struggle, sometimes only one (not the same one).
I think I'll try both with HDMI (both monitors has HDMI v1.4), but I'd prefer to use DisplayPort (both monitors has DisplayPort v1.2) as it has a higher bandwidth (17.28Gbps vs. 10.2Gbps).

Seems to work much better with HDMI, haven't had a problem once since.

I am using 1 HDMI on my graphic card to connect to my LG C2 Oled TV. So I can't use HDMI. I want to use one of the 3 DP ports on my graphic card to connect to Samsung Oled G8 monitor. This thread is so Samsung get to work on and fix the DP issue.

My monitor just updated to firmware version 1520. Let's see if this makes any difference.

Display Port issue still persists with this new firmware.

That's a shame, thanks for confirming. 😐

It is huge problem with all flagship samsung monitors for 4 years now atsleast. Odysey G9/G9 neo/G7/G8/Oled G8 - all were released with huge firmware issues that prevented users from using some monitor functions or made them barely usable. And all for the highest price possible. They do work on the issues and release healty amount of firware updates, problem is it seems like they are not putting enough attention to this both prior and after the release. These firmware updates they release either try to hide the issue or break something else in change. The original G9 monitor, that was flagship monitor at the time still has some of the issues not fixed or not fully fixed till this day some years after the release... All you see on youtube is wow look at this monitor its gorgeous, just wow. And not a single creator ask samsung to be acountable for this mess and from what I can see this continues on since they have no pushback regarding firmware quality of their most expensive monitors. Either samsung use their deep pockets to buy favorable reviews or these creators just ignore all the glaring usability issues and only talk how good the screen looks and feels so they can get more views. Either way people continue buying them and then get burned, becouse noone is reporting about continuation of these issues generation after generation of their monitors.

I'm going to be honest I've always ben a ASUS fan... but I wanted to give Samsung their chance.
First and last time I buy from them.
This is not an acceptable bug to still exist so long after release

Despite these issues I found about this monitor I still got it 4 days ago. Using with Display port (fw 1520.9).
Got same issue where monitor does not detect PC input after wake up. But I always managed to get it to start detecting input with CTRL+SHIFT+ESC, its shortcut to start task manager in windows. After couple of attempts monitor flickers one time and reconnects to PC. One time this did not work, had to use controler to power down and power up monitor and it did work after this with same shortcut.
This makes this not a big problem, but I would like to see it fixed one day anyway.
Hopefully this helps everyone struggling to wake it up, cheers.
