This is regarding my Samsung Freestyle Projector LSP3 (1st Gen, 2022). After the latest update, I can no longer edit the keystone for my projector, nor the scale & screen size. When I press the arrows on the remote to modify the keystone (as I used to), I can see the arrow on screen turning blue - registering that I am clicking it with the remote, however, nothing changes in the dimensions. The focus function works fine.
Troubleshooting I have done:
- Reset to factory settings : this changed nothing
- Checking for any new updates : there were none
- Charging remote
- Running self diagnosis tests
Anyone know a solution or encountered something similar?
Thanks
Audrey

Same here, it wont update at all even im manual mode. I also factory reset it to no avail. Sometimes if i point it at random places in my room while simultaneously trying to update it, it'll work, but it's a pain and doesn't always work. It probably has to do with the update to the freestyle. Need a patch

I’ve come across the same issue with mine today. Confirmed that focus adjustment is working normally but not keystone or scaling settings. Also first gen freestyle based in UK. It was working fine on mine 3 days ago before auto updating to version 1602.

Same issue here. Keystone and scale not working. Previous manual settings lost.
Performed a factory reset and diagnostics. Tried forcing a keystone change by changing the distance and angle of the projector from the projection surface but this did not work.
The projector is unusable without keystone and scale adjustment in my setup.
Seems related to the update as was working previously, surprised it was not identified in testing before release.

Same problem. It starts working after hard reset through pressing power button on projector for 5 seconds, then 5 seconds on RC. But after some little time (1 day I think) keystone stops working again. Very disappointing. Samsung should test their firmware better, because I decided to disable auto upgrades after this will be hopely fixed.

Same, has started doing it just today. Unsure when it auto updated the software.
I’ve found that the software has been far more glitchy since the one released that coincided with the second gen projector… have a feeling this will become more of an issue if the processors don’t have comparable power.
If persisting, I’m going to be claiming on warranty.

Tried the reset with the power off on the remote, but didn’t work. After a factory reset suspected it may not work.
@FoodHoover Good idea. I will look at a warranty claim also, if not sorted soon. UK consumer rights mean you can expect a reasonable lifetime of the product regardless of the issued warranty.

Hi all,
Thanks to your feedback the cause of the issue has now been identified, and an upcoming software update is planned to correct it. (No dates on that, but keep a lookout for updates on your Freestyle.)
In the meantime, my AV/TV colleagues have found that cleaning the sensors on the top of the Freestyle, and then carrying out a cold boot of the device helps; and have advised the following:
1) Remove the protective lens film
- Please use the Keystone feature after removing the film.
If necessary, gently wipe the lens with a soft cloth.
Keep in mind that the lens is sensitive to dust.
2) Remove dust, debris, and foreign materials from the sensors
- Please use a cotton swab to carefully remove dust, debris, and foreign materials from the
sensors on the top of the device.
3) Cold boot
- Please long-press the standby key on the remote until the Freestyle reboots (the boot logo appears, followed by the Home icon).
