Hi there.
I have a Q800T Soundbar with my Q70T TV.
I have connected both via HDMI cable provided with the sound bar.
But shall I select audio output to sound bar via HDMI (ARC) or WIFI?
there is significant difference - and actually the WiFi selection is more powerful? It’s hard to tell, if it’s just louder or if the “surround” feeling is the same.
Can anyone tell me what’s the best setting - HDMI or WIFI?
kind regards
Morten

Hi, I also experienced the same behavior on my HW-Q800T. The sound over Wifi is significantly louder than from HDMI connection.
Were you able to figure out the reason for this discrepancy ?

Hi there.
I came to the conclusion that HDMI is best - although it has a lower sound level. The sound seems more pure from the HDMI then WIFI.
kind regards

I too made this discovery and eventually came to the same conclusion. This is why I searched for this topic. I am looking for an explanation why the eARC seems as if the gain is turned down compared to WiFi.
It also seems as if the Smarthings hub can’t enroll the TV as a smart device unless the WiFi connection is used on the same wireless network. My tv is hardwired via Ethernet.
