@CraegShoumrrae: If you haven't done so already, please download the Galaxy Wearables app from the Google Play Store, and run through the connection process. Select your Galaxy Watch5, select it again, check to see that the number code on the Wearables app matches the watch, and tap connect. From here, you will need to allow permissions for the app, and check the terms and conditions. Once you've done this, tap 'Agree', 'Agree to all' or 'Next'. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish pairing the devices.

Now, on the Galaxy Wearables app, go to Mobile Networks to scan for an eligible network, and follow the prompts to complete the eSIM activation.

If you have followed the steps above, and the issue has persisted, then please reach out to your Mobile Network directly to see if they're able to shed any light on this for you.

Same here.  Watch5 pro on a Pixel 6 pro. I've been over the phone with my mobile provider (EE) looks impossible to connect, witch is strange. Same stupid error.  No time to dig more...

Same error code: -1   Provider is in Canada: Virgin - SET UP A MOBILE PLAN SCREEN SEARCHES A FEW SECONDS AND THEN DISPLAYS:

Virgin Mobile doesn't offer mobile plans for your watch!

THIS IS FALSE!  Virgin staff looking into it.  What does Samsung folks say?

I just got this watch as well and have the same issue with Telus. Error 1 trying to find mobile plans on watch. Telus staff seems confused some say you can use your own watch purchased for Canada use..some say you need to buy it through Telus. Telus clearly states you can use your own new purchased BYOD watch if it's part of their supported models which this is. Very frustrating has anyone found out the issue and a workaround?

I tried with Bell and had the same error.  Their Execs pros actually blamed my One+ phone...

Previously, I managed a partial victory with the watch ESim working with Rogers, though on it's own phone number independantly from the phone.  The error code 1 initially showed up, but suddenly vanished after zillions of standard manipulations...

I just switched to Telus... waiting for my SIM card...

I seriously think Samsung is withholding key info here...

I'm surprised I got a response from you since the last response was in January. Well I'm about to continue my efforts with Telus and hope I can get an agent experienced with this issue. Just FYI some Telus agents believe only the watch can work if purchased through them while others agree you can purchase one outside of them to work. I'll keep you posted perhaps we can double our efforts until we find out the way to get this to work and help some other poor soul here. Btw not sure if this is a reason but I think we need to make sure the watch is a Can and not US otherwise it will be locked. So good I dea to use IMEI online checker just to make sure that will not be a barrier.

Interesting!  Somehow I never bothered checking that...  Bell did tell me last week that they could not see my IMEI...   I bought the watch from Amazon.ca.  I just made a check online and it returned USA as country.

Time to change watch perhaps...

As for the delay in response, it's been that long a nightmare (and continues to be...)

Yup that is what I believe could be part of the issue but it's not the full story that's for sure. This is the 2nd watch I got from Amazon. The first like you was like you (US unlocked) which was a renewable marked as (Canadian) I only discovered it was US when I did the checker online. So this to me was like okay that's the problem. So I returned that watch and just said I'll just look for a brand new Canadian version. Thought that would solve all issues but it hasn't. Actually on the phone with Telus now on hold. Will see what they say.

Okay! I have finally have gotten in contact with a technical support agent at TELUS Canada who was able to provide me with the information we are having with these Samsung Galaxy 6 watches when it comes to the LTE error 1 or simply not finding the mobile plan during the setup process.

The short answer:

The Galaxy watch 6 will not work on just ANY smartphone UNLESS its being used with one of the compatible Samsung smartphone models not just any old Samsung phone even!

The Long Answer:

So of course like may of you have found out by ordering your watch online or even purchasing direct from your phone provider the watch simply will not find the "mobile plans" or come up with the "error 1". This has nothing to do with the phone provider but everything to do with Samsung locking it to work only with their particular supported smartphones.  I have also learned this is also not limited to Samsung doing this but apple, google watches as well. It seems they are just trying to keep users on their devices. So why don't they indicate that in the description or even at the store level when you buy it? Apple is obvious to me it needs to be with apple.. but hell this is ANDROID its the same OS for all other brand names Google, Oneplus etc.!! Well training is one part of it and some agents of those phone booths/stores simply just don't listen to the techs who deal with it on their end adding to the confusion and assuming it will just work. If the store staff would have called tech support when they noticed it not working they could have avoided this all together at least for me.

Now here is where it gets interesting..

If you like I planned to use any android smart watch EXCEPT the Apple LTE watch for the purpose of using it as a standalone to have its own phone number so you can say give to your child for tracking and simple communication, it will also not work even if you did have the correct Samsung phone or Google phone for the Pixel watch! Yes these watches are LTE but was not designed for the STANDALONE package from your service provider. Its only meant to use the same number as your phone you plan to pair with and will send and receive messages like your phone. Basically duplicating what's on your phone if say you left your phone at home. You can then call and text with your watch on the SAME number. It was never stated this way to me even though I clearly explained how I wanted to use this watch. SO the main purpose of these smart watches is simply to be an extension of your regular phone just with LTE so you don't need to have your phone near it with Bluetooth. Now I asked the tech agent what if I were to take my phone SIM out, plug it into a supported Samsung phone, run the wearable app though it and make sure I have the watch setup with a standalone phone number separate from my phone so it can send receive text on its own. Once it finds the mobile plans and I setup the watch successfully I than remove the SIM and put back in my other Android phone will that work? NOPE. TELUS servers will see the SIM is in a different phone and will immediately have compatibility issues and the watch may work  on its own for some time but will eventually fail one way or the other through them or the moment you need to update the watch system software when it connects to the wearable app and Samsung sees its not a Samsung phone. Also the tech stated even if I had the standalone LTE package for the watch it wont work because its not designed to be used as a standalone with its own phone number!!! so LTE means nothing in this case if that's how you wished to use it. This is the same with the Pixel watch as that was my next thought but she was like nope its the same. The only watch she said that can do what I wanted was the LTE Apple watch. I would need to get a standalone phone number for that and I would also need the iPhone once its setup the watch will operate independently with its own number to send and receive calls and text etc.

Soo..

If all you care about is to use the watch for yourself and not have your phone on you at all times then in order for it to work you need a compatible Samsung phone for the Samsung watch and the sharable plan basically piggybacks off your same phone number. This is the same for Google pixel watch you will need Google phone that is compatible for it as well.

So I'm in the process of returning this watch for a refund. This explains why there are SOOO many half priced renewed Galaxy Watch 6 on Amazon because I think people are trying to do what we thought would be the whole point of the LET function on the watch but discovered it wont work and don't know why because the sales people at these phone providers don't know why themselves unless they spoke with a tech who deals with them all the time.

SO it wouldn't matter even if we got an unlocked for your country anyhow because there are 2 other variables that need to be met as well which in my case cannot be done.

I hope this helps anyone trying to figure out what going on and the error 1 message. Its just sad nobody in these phone companies know to just say "oh you have this phone it wont work" "Oh you want to use it as a standalone separate number with your Samsung compatible device you have oh it wont work that way either". No they walk through the whole process and set you up as for only to scratch their heads wasting your time.

Best of luck.
