It's on charge and I suddenly had a notification on my phone. I haven't installed it - or ever heard of it - so what gives? Reddit tells me it's a Korean chat app... Not that useful to me in the UK if I'm honest. My Korean isn't great.

Anyone else? Or have I inadvertently agreed to some chat app experiment whilst asleep? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I haven't got reddit but it seems it's from someone with similar issue according to Google. https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyWatch/comments/t2sevf/suddenly_have_tons_of_new_apps/

Thank you. Glitch seems to be the only explanation. I don't even have it on my phone. Thanks for your time!

@fbs4800: I'm not sure what could have caused this app to unexpectedly install itself on your Galaxy Watch5. Did you purchase the device from an online retailer and, if so, did you make sure to check the product description to make sure that it is intended for use in your current region?

To install the app, please open the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected mobile phone, then head to Watch Settings > Apps > Tap on KakaoTalk > Uninstall.

Yeah, it was as described on Reddit. It suddenly installed all of the "essential apps" that were listed in the watch store - but without any prompting. I don't have those apps on my phone. Uninstalled them all now, but just find it strange as I've never experienced it before. In fact, it's mildly concerning as well, as I thought app installation would require user input; new apps anyway.

This has just happened to me also under the same circumstances, pit the watch on charge for the first time and just had the notification about this app being installed?

If you check, you'll probably have all the others from "essential apps" too. Took a minute to uninstall them all and was just an inconvenience.

HOWEVER, battery life seems to have almost doubled from my first time if using the watch, so no grumbles really!

Yeah, just finished getting rid of them all, not sure why they have done this, quite annoying, they are in no way essential apps that should be bundled with the watch.

I just had the same problem.
I bought galaxy watch 5 like 20 days ago, today i got this notification.

Samsung Galaxy s23 Ultra + Samsung Galaxy Watch 5

Watch was not on the charger for the first time, but yes it was charging.

I did not install it myself.
I don't even know what this app is.
It installs automatically :shocked-face-with-exploding-head:

Both devices have latest os installed, no updates are found.

Shouldn't be happening. It's a pain but wasn't the end of the world for me. Just uninstalled.
