Hi all,

I currently have the galaxy watch 46mm, R800. I am thinking of getting the galaxy watch 6 classic but a litle dissapointed with the battery, according to the Samsung website is 425mah. Where as my old 46mm is 472mah!! Doesn't make sense to have a smaller battery!?

Makes sense if the chip inside is more power efficient

Not always is the battery size the only consideration.

Optimised operating system, and newer chipset efficiency can improve battery life.

I am speculating as I don't own the galaxy watch 6 classic... and it is still on preorder. If you have concerns about the battery then you should await some more user reviews and check youtube after the new watch has been released for a few weeks.

For info, I own the watch 5 Pro and the battery on this is very good... for normal wearing I get 4 days +... with exercise a little less but it is very good.

I think compared to the original GW... the change to wearOS from android... and newer chipsets, should make the watch a good upgrade.

Thanks. I was on a chat with Samsung yesterday who said the 5 pro does have better battery performance than the 6, (590mah). But the 6 has the rotating bezel, upgraded operating system and upgraded UI.

I went from the watch3 model with rotating bezel which was a good wearable... and it also had the ECG and blood pressure functions.

I upgraded due to good trade in offers, and to update from the earlier samsung TizenOS to wearOS which is an improvement.

I am very happy with the upgrade and with the watch 5 Pro... is it a good upgrade in most ways. The sensors are also more accurate which is good.

Often samsung give some good trade deals when preorder... and after release date the incentives change. My own upgrades were very worthwhile... and I doubt I would have paid the full £429 for the watch... but with discounts and trade in value it was nearly half of the RRP.

If the early preorder deal suits then i am sure you won't be disappointed coming from the first GW watch.

The new watch has a more optimised operating system.
You will probably find the new watch more efficient and longer lasting.
As has been said before, you can wait until its out for a while to see what others say.
Alternatively if you are in the UK. Buy online and you will have a returns period if your not happy with it.

Having seen and had the watch in hand last week. I can tell you it's a great looking thing.
Might have to upgrade my watch.

Thanks. Can't see any discounts, just the trade in.

Ok, I think I was lucky enough to get another 10% off by buying the watch and S23U at the same time. Additionally I was able to claim £100 summer cashback... so it was a cracking deal.

If you are in no rush... sometimes a better deal can be had at a later time, rather than preorder. I waited a while before getting the new phone and watch.

My guess is you will get about a day and a half battery life with the watch 6 and a day using AOD. Not a deal breaker for me as it also supports faster charging than my watch 4.

I would have upgraded if the battery hadn't been so small, but I'm getting 6 days from my Watch 5 Pro.
