Galaxy watch 6 classic straps, will old straps fit?

Question ..

I've pre-ordered the Galaxy watch 6 classic (47 mm) and was wondering if the watch will take previous models straps?

I prefer metal bracelet style straps and am hoping my old strap will fit it (or other 3rd party older straps)

Anyone know?

From understanding, the new watch 6 and last year watch 5 range use the same 20mm strap size.

However, Earlier models used a 22mm strap, slightly larger.

Depending where you read, it may be possible to 'force fit' a 22mm into a 20mm... but that is something I personally wouldn't want to do on a brand new watch.

I would check when the new hardware arrives... offer it up to the new watch and see how it might fit.

Some of the new watch straps for the GW6 look nice... but they expensive for genuine replacements !.

I am a fan of this new d-buckle magnetic design that samsung have used on the watch 5 Pro... it works very well.

Four years ago I had watch Active. Two years ago got a watch 4 classic. All took 20mm straps as does the watch 6. What is new this year is that official straps have a easy release button.

Yeah just saw the release button mentioned on a review site...

If it's 20-22 then all is good (I presume the 22 for the 47mm watch

Yes best not to force fit in my view, the 1st and 3rd generation watches certainly had  the 22 mm strap.

No it will be 20mm for entire range.

@nutmeg - I'm headed in the opposite direction 😁 I'm super happy with my 5 Pro and looking at the D-Buckle Hybrid Eco-Leather Band (Looks epic!) and wondering if it would fit 🤔
