I am unable to receive calls on my Galaxy Watch 4 LTE unless it is connected to Bluetooth and is close to my phone. It doesn't receive calls when my phone is turned off. I have checked the settings but can't see anything wrong. Help please. 😕

I contacted the mobile carrier and the issue was corrected. I recently got a new phone and that resulted in the connection with the watch being removed. They reconnected and all is well. Your suggestion to contact the mobile carrier was the solution. Thanks again. 😁

Hello, do you have a LTE plan for your watch 4 currently, if you're paying for a LTE data plan the steps down below might help this your connectivity issues.

How to set Your Watch Mobile Network to "Always On"

Here's how to adjust your watch's mobile network settings, which might help resolve any current issues:

  1. Go to your watch settings.
  2. Tap on Connections.
  3. Select Mobile networks.
  4. Choose "Always on".

Enabling "Always on" ensures that your watch maintains a continuous connection to the mobile network, which can often prevent or fix connectivity problems you might be experiencing.

I have "OneNumber Unlimited Access" at $10/month as part of my phone plan. It seems to have let me receive calls on my watch up until recently. Would an update to my watch have caused the issue?

I am unsure if an update to your watch would have caused this issue. Could you get me the software version number.

I will do some digging around and see if anyone has had this issue.

Quick question, did this work with your phone being off before the update?

I have also just found a post from 2022, but someone commented in 2024 with a fix he found maybe you can try?

  1. Dial *#2263# on your watch. This should bring up a menu with various LTE/GSM band settings.
  2. Ensure your mobile network setting is on "Always on," not "Auto." The "Auto" setting can sometimes trigger the "Airplane Mode Is On" message.
  3. Experiment with the band settings.
    • For this user, initially setting it to "LTE/GSM" allowed texts but resulted in "Emergency calls only."
    • The issue was fully resolved by changing the setting to "LTE/WCDMA/GSM," enabling both calls and texts.

This process involves adjusting specific network band configurations on your watch and may require some trial and error to find the setting that works best for your signal and service.
