Galaxy Fit 2 - Inaccurate Steps Count

I have recently switched from the FitE to the Fit2 and have found that the steps counter is not working correctly.

It fails to track the normal steps I do around the home and seems to only count properly when I'm constantly walking for more than 10 minutes.

I have now got both bands set up and the FitE is counting steps properly. The Fit2 is 500 steps behind even though I've been wearing it for an hour more.

The Fit2 is running latest software and I've reset it. I've also turned off auto exercise tracking but this hasn't made a difference.

I'm really frustrated as the Fit2 has a far superior colour screen and let's me read my messages. But I need it to track steps properly otherwise what was the point in upgrading?

I've googled and see this only came out at the end of 2020 and can't find anyone with similar issues.

Can anyone help? If not I guess its a faulty tracker!

Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem it's not counting my steps properly. I've recently bought the galaxy fit2 I was using a fitbit which I loved the features and accuracy of the steps. I changed to the fit2 just for a bit of a change but I'm not happy at all, I walked around all morning and lunchtime I checked how many steps and it said 45. It should have been more like 6550 as its a usual route. I've reset etc and still no joy. I'm starting to regret moving from my fitbit.

Just tagging on here, I upgraded to the fit2 after having a great experience with my 1st fit. I've had this one about 6 months and it's grossly under counting my steps as well, my around the house steps dont pick up, but also my continuous exercise steps. I spend about an hour on the eliptical, go between 5-6 miles and my fit only tracks around 8k steps for the whole day. My gym time alone should be over 10k, plus I live on a 3rd floor apartment so there's just no way that's only 8k steps. And it seems to be losing more in the last week, now 6 miles doesn't even hit 8k steps so all it is is a watch, it's completely useless as a step tracker!

I also suffer the same problem with my Fit2. My original fit would count every step I took, and the fit 2 would be 10-20 steps behind. On the latest firmware also. Very frustrating

I have had this exact same problem from the beginning and I have had my Fit for a long time, maybe 2 years now. I always do the updates and have tried everything. The step tracker sucks, and that's my main use for this watch. I'll have to change to a different product/company next time. However, I like the Wear app that shows my sleep patterns and shows the proper steps with my phone, but I don't carry my phone around all day so it's missing tons of steps too. Also, my Deep Sleep tracker shows very little deep sleep. Has anyone else noticed that being off, or is that correct? It's showing literally 10 min out of a whole 7 hours of sleep.

I ended up buying a new fit 2. this one works better and only seems to be off between 200 and 400 steps a day.
