Apps as complications on Watch 5

Hi.

Is there a way of adding an app/app shortcut as a complication to the Watch 5? So that when I press on it, the respective app that is installed on the watch will open?

Am I missing something?

I don't think you can do that, we'll I have not seen that option

That's a shame, giving how customisable the device is!
Even a crApple Watch can do it.

For certain watch faces, you can have App shortcut as one of the complications.
