Yet another smart hub died. Come on Samsung!

Same problem that thousands of others seem to be having: software updated to version 2127, and now the smart features don't work. The TV is now an expensive brick.

"Smart hub is being updated. Please try again later."

Tried the soft reset, hard reset, factory reset, the "wait five minutes" trick, the launching apps from the features menu. Nothing works. The latest software update has killed the TV.

Model number is UE22F5400, for what it's worth. Network connection is fine.

Interestingly, when I look in the smart features menu, the "Samsung Account" option is now greyed out - selecting it brings up the message "This function isn't available". This has to be related to the problem? Why will my TV no longer connect to my Samsung account?

There are so many people affected by this. Even if you don't have a fix yet, could you at least let us know that someone is working on it? Or do we need to return our TVs and not risk getting another Samsung TV if this is what happens to them?

I hate to say this, but I bought mine from Walmart, which is notorious for taking products back.  I've been a Samsung fan for many years, but it seems to me that corporation doesn't care about fixing problems it started!  Nobody should have to call support and jump through hoops via online reps who can't really do anything!  Who runs a company that way?!  Whatever software glitch that was introduced by Samsung should have been fixed with a patch long ago!  Mine is going back to Walmart and I'll buy from another brand that works!

This is an older post, but for anyone having issues and has not found a solution. I called Samsung support and this is what they had me do.

Unplug everything (yes, everything) from the TV, even the network. Reset Smarthub. Let it finish the reset. Then below that is another Reset. Select that  and let TV reboot. when it comes back up it should start the setup as if it were a new TV. Go through it step by step. Make sure to agree to all of the terms and policy when you get to it. Connect the cable box if you have one. Connect the network  when it asks for it. Keep stepping through the step up until you get to the end. When you finish, you should be able to operate the functions as you did before.

I know this is an old post but hear me out. We had something similar at around a similar time. We Googled and got our TV working and did not think about it after that. The TV regularly tells us it is searching for an update. Every time we turn it, on in fact. What it didn't say and we didn't know is that it has not ever done another update since then. It is actually failing. v2127 is our last successful update. And we cannot force another update.

The reason we know this now is because Netflix stopped working. In hindsight this may be why Disney never worked. We want to use our TV! And we're not buying a new TV because Samsung can't support it's own products.

But the problem is that the TV refuses to update from USB and it fails to find an update online, no matter what we try. And we have tried everything, a factory reset, reformatting the USB drive (which works because pictures are available to view on the TV), many different settings, moving the update file to the root and so on. I am at my wits end and I have to do my real job but I am very annoyed about this.

Anyone else have something similar?
