Hi, I have a brand new Samsung QN85Q72DDFXZA (bought 2/9/25) and in the last few days I’ve noticed weird white clouds on the screen during dark scenes. They show up on all sources, whether built in Samsung apps like Netflix (as pictured), or when using a PS5. I’ve tried to resetting the picture and soft booting the TV. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

This is a backlight issue, not a software issue. Try pressing (not too hard) and pulling in one direction on the sides of the screen. But honestly, that's really bad. I would contact Samsung support.

Hi John! Do you mean pressing and pulling the edges of the screen, or pressing and pulling on the screen itself (like trying to push out bubbles in a screen protector)? Thanks!

Hi, So I'm not really what could be could be causing it...

1. Light coming into the tv
Move the tv to an darker spot. Without no lights on and window blinds on.
2. Display issues?

I tried but it didn’t do much, as you suspected. I did contact Samsung and they’re coming out next Wednesday to replace something (connection was bad so missed what she said they were replacing). They said they could tell from the photos what the issue was. Only annoying part is I have to figure out how to get it off the mount before then. Thanks for all your help!

Sorry you had to deal with such an inconvenience. Glad to be of help.

Make sure to set as resolved, so others know that they may need to do the same as you if they have a similar issue 😊
