Samsung remote stopped working on Chromecast, pairing launched Music Wall instead

I have a S90D smart TV with a tm2360e remote. Up until yesterday it worked just fine on my Chromecast, but I suspect one of my kids messed with something and now it doesn't work on Chromecast. I tried painting Chromecast with my TV, but whenever I do that the TV just launches the Music Wall app instead. As soon as I exit the app, the Chromecast says the TV is disconnected.

My TV is not online (Chromecast is), I have never set up any SmartThings since I just want a dumb TV to play my Chromecast on. So how do I reconnect my remote to Chromecast so I can use it to pause and navigate my videos without needing two remotes? I was able to do that just fine for a few months...

Hi and welcome, sure i read somewhere Chromecast is no more and discontinued.

Google TV or whatever it's called these days. I got it a few months ago.

Best have a read, not dead, but doscontinued so likely all support will be pulled and it becomes a dead duck.

I have Google TV, I just called it a Chromecast since that's what that line of products used to be called.

At any rate, that's not the issue. The issue is the Samsung remote used to work just fine, but it stopped a few days ago.

And for some reason, after a few days of not working, the remote works just as it did before... So not sure what is up with that...
