After 20 years abroad, we just moved to the UK with our Samsung TV - qe50qn90aatxxh - and are trying to work out how best to get ‘normal’ UK TV channels such as BBC and ITV. I’ve checked what apps are available on the TV but nothing that helps - no Freeview, no BBC, no ITV, etc.
I realise I need Freeview but I’m not sure what version or form would work with the TV - I really don’t want to get a Freeview box and find out we don’t have the right aerial or something else.
First question - We moved into a flat in the UK - how do I find out what aerial I have where I live? the people before had Sky and their are two coaxial cables but I don’t know if they are for Sky or for what - how can I find out what they are and if they good for a Freeview box.
Second question - what should I get? Freeview box, Freeview Play, or would an Amazon fire stick or Chromecast work? Or should I be thinking about something else? I just read about Freely but that seems to only be integrated into TVs so not an option. We are not likely to record anything given how much can be streamed, so I’m not looking for storage or recording - just TV channels.
any help with this would be much appreciated

Hi @Puck2 Freeview is built into all modern uk Samsung Tv's, however will not be the case with your set. To receive the uk apps would need to try and change the region, all live Tv will only be available on some services though. This works for some :
Reset your tv and when on the screen that says “Enjoy a wide range of smart features”, do the Mute - Volume up - Channel up - Mute . A window with the country selection should appear.
An alternative is » - 2 - 8 - 9 - « (this is FFWD - 2 - 8 - 9 - REWIND).
However you will not receive Freeview play via the Samsung Tv ,would require a Box. https://www.freeview.co.uk/get-freeview/products Need aerial for live Tv, cable looks like these https://www.maplin.co.uk/collections/aerial-cables
A number of services are also available on a Firestick (via wifi) There is also an app for live channels Tv player but the free version is limited.https://support-uk.tvplayer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360017103639-What-is-TVPlayer
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Thank you - did the reset, seem to have got the right apps, but now I get the message ‘smart hub is being updated, please try again later’ when I try to open anything. I’ll give it a bit of time to see what happens.
Reset the TV again and it’s all good-happy to have the UK channels and looks like it’s all working. Thank you for the guidance.
