I have a Samsung OLED S90D wit the 6 speakers at rear of TV and the volume increases of its own accord particulary when watching football for some strange reason.  Can anyone please tell me which sound setting is causing this please. The TV is on a stand in the corner of a room.

Hi @Alan19651

It sounds like the issue you're experiencing might be related to an automatic volume adjustment feature, such as Adaptive Sound or Auto Volume settings. These features can sometimes cause volume fluctuations, especially when there are sudden changes in the audio, like loud crowd noises in football broadcasts. Here are a few things to try:

  1. Disable Adaptive Sound: Go to your TV's sound settings and turn off Adaptive Sound. This setting adjusts the sound based on the content, but sometimes it can cause volume issues when there’s a lot of variation in the audio.

  2. Check Auto Volume Settings: Some Samsung TVs have a setting called Auto Volume, which helps maintain consistent volume levels between channels or inputs. If it's enabled, it might adjust the volume unexpectedly. Turn it off if it's on.

  3. Speaker Settings: Since you have 6 speakers at the rear, ensure your sound system isn't set to a specific mode that might enhance certain frequencies or sounds. For example, settings like Surround Sound can sometimes amplify certain elements of the broadcast.

  4. Sound Output: If you're using external sound equipment (like a soundbar), check the connection and settings there as well, as sometimes external systems can cause volume fluctuations.

  5. Room Acoustics: Since your TV is on a stand in the corner of the room, the sound reflections could be impacting how the TV adjusts the audio. Try experimenting with the sound mode (like switching to Standard or Cinema) or adjusting the Bass/Treble settings to see if it reduces the effect.

Thanks Asad. I'll try these things. I'll prbably reset the sound to start with and then go through the settings. I did adjust the base and treble seperately so will have a look at that.

Good tips Asad but personally put up with the volume doing this on occasion. Can't get it to sound anywhere as good as when you are using the intelligent mode settings.
