I am getting more frustrated with Samsung TVs :-/… anyway! I have 3  Samsung tvs, the  UE60JU6800KXXU was ALOT of money at the time, but seems to struggle the most with sharing content from my iPhone or tablet, but it weirdly works fine with YouTube and others. I assume it doesn’t support Airplay? But I can’t even mirror :-(. I’m trying to use apps such as FIIT etc, just don’t understand how I can watch YouTube on my phone and easily connect to the tv, but other apps won’t let me…. I’ve factory reset, etc, etc… surely I don’t have to change the tv? The one that is older even works ok sharing?!?

It's always copy right issue sadly, apps like sky plus definitely don't want you sharing details with a mate for watching sport ! Each app handles it differently. Airplay2 is more for casting personal content vs streaming. Sadly "future proof" means naff all in tech, God I wish it did!

@Bailey: I have looked into this for you, and AirPlay is unfortunately not supported on this model. If you head press Menu/123 and head to Menu > Network > Screen mirroring, then you can enable screen mirroring from here. Alternatively, press the Source button on the remote, and select Screen Mirroring. For further guidance on mirroring your iPhone, I recommend contacting Apple Support directly.

Hey there

As well as @AndrewL excellent advice, there are many apps that don't allow you to mirror such as SkyGo. They say this is generally due to copyright issues.

Thank you for the response. I have tried mirroring too, just doesn’t seem to work :-(. I will try again though. It’s odd that it all seems to work when I use the YouTube app on my phone, links with no effort at all

thank you for taking the time to respond, this could be why it’s not working for me, I’m trying to mirror FiiT and TT app, both just don’t seem to work. I bought this TV as it was sold as being future proof even on the Samsung website (which I know isn’t always the case) just find it odd that it works fine with some apps, but not others

I wondered if it was a Samsung issue, always bought their TVs, bought a cheap TCL for a spare room (never ever not bought Samsung) and it does everything it seems?!? Always paid top TOP money for Samsungs… not sure I would anymore, Apple and Samsung fights don’t help at all at seems 😞

Age is big here, the Ju series is 2015, compared a TCL to a 9 year old Samsung is hard, a £75 smart phone would probably beat a £1000 9 year old phone. Just tech updates and changes.

I agree, but also disagree :-). If other apps work on the 2015 tv ok not just an age thing I guess… also I have an older Samsung tv which mirrors ok and connects with a M Samsung speaker, but the newer 2015 doesn’t….. it’s weird. Both TVs cost 2k+ from new so not cheap versions ……. Anyway, I was hoping for the holy grail of being able to connect 😉
