Hi,
I just bought a Q900 8k 75” (QN75Q900RBGXZD) to replace an old (2014) Samsung TV and there are a few annoying things that doesn’t work on this model that used to work on the old model.
One of these things is related to the Anynet+.
I have my TV connected to a Yamaha receiver RX-A1060. With the old TV I was able to turn on the receiver when I turned on the TV using the TV remote control (just clicking the TV turn on button it also turned on the receiver) and turning off the TV the receiver also turned off.
With the Q900, when I turn on the TV the receiver doesn’t turn on. I need to use the receiver remote control. I can see that every time I turn on the TV, the TV Speakers is set as default audio output. If I change it to Receiver (HDMI) the receiver turn on.
The turn off is working: when I turn the TV off, the receiver aldo turn off.
My question is: Is there any configuration I couldn’t find the enable the feature to turn the receiver on when I turn the TV on? Or is there any way to set the Receiver (HDMI) as default audio output even when the TV is restarted?
Thanks.
Daniel

Yeah we know and than you for sharing but the whole point of connecting to denon is that it has 4k upscaling… (my tv doesnt but next year a new one lg c2 or samsung a90k )

Im using marantz nr1508 and some cheaper UHD Samsung from 2019.
I have tried all the mentioned stuff:
- turn anynet on and off
- unplug the tv
- set smart menu on marantz as on
- set that RC to select input (from select input + on)
None of the stuff worked on its on.
Then after all that, I tried turning off the tv by long pressing power off button on the remote. TV turned off and on again (all while pressing the button) and the av reciever turned off and on as well.
After that it works.

I finally replaced my old Mitsubishi 73"DLP with a new Samsung QN85BD. We have liked our several Samsung appliances and Galaxy phones, so felt this was a good move. Now I find this big problem with Samsung TV not rurning on AV receivers has been well known for about three years and Samsung seemingly could not care less! Really pissed that I paid over $3000 for a TV with a well known problem, and Samsung is ZERO help. Sure wish I had purchased the LG 86" instead!

TNDave, If you're using your tv as the source switching hub and not your receiver, then this information might help. I posted it a long way back in this string, and it's solved the issue for many people:
Try making sure that the arc/eARC source is not the last source selected.
So in my case on the q95t select hdmi source 1,2 or 4, or Samsung TV app (that seems to count as a source). Key is to make sure you do NOT leave the eARC output selected on the tv (probably HDMI 3).
The tv always remembers the last source selected, no matter what tv apps you use.
Then the receiver will turn off and on as expected.
All you have to do is remember to select another source after you,ve been using the hdmi 3/eARC source (usually you only select this source to view the receiver settings menu on your tv).
Of course this work around is not so useful if you actually use your receiver as a regular source. But the whole point of eARC is that you don’t need to run your sources via the receiver, so this generally shouldn’t be an issue.

Just an update. I didn't read the entire thread, but I have issues with my Denon receiver and my QN90B. This occurs when I connect it in the order of PC > Receiver > TV. It takes about 10 - 15 seconds for it to turn on my receiver. The TV defaults back to TV speakers every time. The only way to get it to work properly is to Run it to PC > TV > Receiver.
I'm surprise how much of a downgrade this 2022 TV is software wise to my old 2017 TCL P605. The menu didn't lag, there wasn't juddering issues, firmware updates actually fixed the TV and ancient features like ARC worked with no issues.
This is my first and last Samsung TV ever. Imagine being excited to use my uncle's Sony with a fast and smooth menu.

I have to address this as I don't think it's entirely true.
If you are a sound-buff (like me) and want to use your AVR's full capabilities, and listen to sound in DTS-HD and Dolby True HD, you cannot run your source through your TV since it will downscale it to whatever it can handle, which AFAIK in 100% of cases it is not able to process DTS-HD and the like. Keep this in mind.

@Nom1fan Hi, Yes, I'm also an audio nut, but I don't use Bluray, I only stream, which means (as far as I know ) DTS HD or Dolby True HD is not available anyway (not yet at least). But the Passthrough function does pass all the audio I have going in to the tv and back out with no loss. Having said that, a lot of modern tv's with eARC will also pass through Dolby True HD with zero loss. Unfortunately less tv's pass DTS HD currently. So if you have a lot of media with DTS HD, indeed you'll have to feed your source directly to the amp. Some Sony's, and Hisense tv's do also pass through DTS HD. Looks like no LG's or Samsungs though :-(. I found this nice article on passthrough: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/5-1-surround-audio-passthrough

Something interesting I found with my Samsung TV+Denon AVR that makes it work as it should.
1) With streaming box and TV connected to power, but turned off - plug the streaming box (I tested with Roku Ultra and the 2022 Apple TV) into any "regular" HDMI ports of the TV, then connect TV to AVR via ARC HDMI.
This allows for the streaming remote to turn on the TV + Denon.
2) Use the streaming remote to turn on the TV and then turn it off.
The way I tested is use the streaming box remote to turn on TV, wait until TV and AVR are on and wait ~5 secs then use the remote to turn them off.
3) WITHOUT unplugging any device from power, switch the video cables to connect the streaming device to the AVR instead of the TV (AVR still connected to TV with ARC HDMI).
4) Tadaaa - now using the streaming remote to turn on the TV turns on the AVR too.
If power is disconnected from the streaming box/TV, that breaks the fix and you have to repeat the above steps.
I broke and re-did the steps 3 times on purpose and each time the fix worked.
No idea how these things communicate, but this seems like some sort of signal time syncing is happening when the streaming box is connected directly to the Samsung TV, which can be easily broken.
Didn't need to do that with my Sony and TCL TVs, so it is still the Samsung TV that is the outlier.
Hopefully this trick works for others.
After the last time I did this, it has been working for me for 3 weeks now.
