Hopefully someone can help/advise on the problem I've got with my Smart TV (UE40D5520RKXXU).
A few days ago the remote was used to power the TV up but it wouldn't get passed the start-up screen switching itself off then trying to restart reaching the same point and shutting down and restarting again, this just goes on and on.
Now the power is switched off as it won't start but when the power is switched on it automatically tries to start but fails every time as above.
The TV is about 6 years old, in perfect condition, I'd like to keep it but only if it's going to cost a reasonable amount to sort out.
Last year this same thing happend and I opened the back up to have a look around to see if anything obvious was wrong and with a many power on/offs it started up, much to my surprise, so the back was re-attached and we had been using it without any problems for the last 8 months.
Could the problem be in the software or is it a power supply problem? Hopefully someone can come up with a suggestion or two.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am having the same issues with my UN55ES7500F in this reboot loop.
I have had the back off of the TV for months now as I thought the rebooting was a heat issue, which it might still be as there are a few issues with this TV, hence why I have it in actual fact, but that's another story altogether.
Today for no apparent reason it wouldn't exit the boot-loop. So I unplugged the power and let it 'cool' down for an hour or so. I then removed the power board, which is when I noticed that the connector on the ribbon cable that connects the power board to the main board has brown heat damage as does the connector block itself, but just on the last 2 pins on the upper tier. I dusted everything off, although it wasn't dusty really and connected it all back together, with the ribbon cable reversed, just because I could and I think I would now be able to see if the connector sustains further damage.
The result so far is that the TV is now back on and working, but for how long?
My question is, would this heat damage cause the boot-loop or the excessive heat from the main board CPU, and what would cause this, as I think it's safe to say that the main issue remains?
Thanks very much for any help?

Having the same issue with my parents TV that they were going to throw out, so I thought I'd look into fixing it.
After opening it up, I noticed that it has the exact same burn mark as the post above. I did notice that it was getting very warm at the back of the TV.
I managed to get the connector out, and one of the pins is fried:
This was a top of the range TV when we got it, would be a shame to throw it out, but I don't see this being easily repaired.
I'm getting boot loops, crashing from opening the menu, searching for a network crashes it, and sometimes it likes to do this:
Not ideal, and after seeing that pin I wouldn't feel safe leaving it on for any length of time.

Hi Dmcgar,
Hopefully not tempting fate my TV has been working flawlessly, even to the point that the CPU seems to be working at a normal temperature.
The only things I actually did was remove and clean the board and reverse the cable. Without knowing what the pins in question actually do, and even then I doubt I would be able to do anything with that knowledge, I'm guessing it's just a waiting game to see if the problem reoccurs.
Please let me know how you get on.

So far so good at my side. Swapped the cable round, and got any dust that was in there out and it ran all last night without a crash. Didn't seem to be heating up quite as bad either.
Tried to source a replacement cable for it online, but couldn't seem to get an exact one. Found that the cable is called "Main AV to PSU Cable". I think if this could be replaced, and possibly a new power cable it could keep it going for a good while.
Will keep my eye on it, but it seems to have done the trick for now.

My thoughts too.
Funny that you mention the actual power cable itself, my old self would've thought that they are all the same. However, after having performance and compatibility issues with both USB and HDMI cables it would not surprise me in the least if there were better power cables than others. Although, I can only surmise (not using the 'ass of u and me' word is very deliberate here) that the quality and thickness of the cable itself are the only variables which can differ, which is not the case with USB and HDMI cables.
I'll be putting the rear panel back on my TV tomorrow, after one last clean and inspection of the cable, which I so hope is not showing any signs of heat etc.
I'm pleased my posting may have been of use to you, seeing as Samsung themselves have not offered any assistance whatsoever.

Hi
my brother has a ue65f9005. It seems he has same issue as you:
smart TV logo displays for about 18 seconds
screen goes black for about 5 seconds
smart TV logo displays (dimmed) for about 18 seconds
screen goes black for about 5 seconds
above cycle repeats until powered off
is that the same issue as yours?
Did the NAND-IC' chip fix it?
did you choose “accepted solution” or did Samsung select it for you?
thanks ColinK2

Mine just did the same thing. I left it disconnected form the mains overnight and let it boot itself up without any remote control input and now it's fine. I hope it stays that way.

I want to say that I had the exact same issue of TV(UE65NU7100)continually restarting every few minutes, sometimes after around 20 seconds. I'm not suggesting this is a fix for everyone but for me it certainly worked. The issue I had was not with the TV at all, it was my Amazon Firestick that was the issue. I removed the Firestick from the mains supply, I also removed and then refitted the batteries in the Firestick remote control. All I can say is if you have a Firestick connected to your TV try what I did it worked for me.

Similar issues, similar fixes (pretty much all of them over the last 4 years of boot-loop/fix/boot-loop cycles) on my UE40D5520. Finally resolved for good by buying a Panasonic and gleefully putting a hammer through the screen of the Samsung last night.
Won't be buying the brand again.

Ha, ha, I did EXACTLY the same although I did manage to sell the old Samsung for spares/repair! I even had the same problem with a newer Samsung TV which was still under a John Lewis 5 year guarantee, and had that replaced with a new Panasonic. Bye bye Samsung - I won’t ever buy another Samsung product. Their loss, not mine!
