Dear Andrew, I now understand why Samsung prefers to write private messages rather than write in a forum. This below is what an agent wrote to me when I said that I am very worried that my faulty Samsung TV could cause a fire in my home.  Very short-sighted that to save the £50 that Samsung could pay to send an engineer to check faulty items, they prefer to lose thousands of customers. Stupid strategy.samsung.jpg

I've fixed a few Samsung TVs like this.  The main thing is when you notice a dark spot on the bottom or a brighter spot somewhere else to stop using the TV.  One LED has failed and the rest of the strip will run hotter as the voltage from that first LED is distributed to the others.  You eventually get a cascading failure and some of the remaining LEDs will run super hot and melt the lens behind the screen causing it to crack.  LED strips can be replaced but to replace the lens in the back requires a donor TV.

I own the Samsung AU800 crystal UHD and just noticed today that a bright white spot was present on the screen right above the power button panel on the bottom right of the screen.  I attempted to touch the power button but the panel was extremely hot to the touch that I pulled back immediately.  I turned the tv off and it has cooloed down after half an hour but gets hot again right after turning it back on. I will be returning this tv today since it clearly presents a potential fire hazard.

Samsung should help you out under warranty, give them a call.  Sounds like some of the LEDs are failing

We bought a 2022 Samsung "The Frame" TV for Black Friday, but didn't open it until we got to our new house in February.

The TV gets incredibly hot and the frame tv is designed to stay on much longer due to its nature of acting like a panting when the TV is turned off.

We're starting to see white "hotspots", although they're not as pronounced as some other people's tvs. I believe our TV is still under warranty, but this will be a HUGE problem if this always happens. The reason we bought "The Frame" was to leave it on as artwork.

I have heard lots of similar stories with Samsung. Very poor rating on Trustpilot. Gave my large Samsung tv  to my son and he is now complaining of exactly the same problem. Call out and repair is a scam as you say these days you could buy a new tv for the charge. Best option here in the UK is to buy from Costco (no real warranty expiry they told me with a faulty product) and Richer sounds who ive just used to purchase my 65 inch OLED from (6 years no quibble warranty). As for Samsung they are getting left behind with their poor aftercare and short warranties. I would be reluctant to buy a Samsung product at the minute.
