Samsung S90D TV Not Reading 5TB Hard Drive Correctly

Hi! I have a Samsung S90D and an external 5TB HDD, and I’m experiencing an issue:
When I connect the 5TB HDD to the TV, some folders containing videos appear empty, even though they’re not. These same folders are fully visible and accessible when using a 1TB HDD.

I connected the 5TB HDD to an LG C4, and it read everything without any issues. So the problem isn’t with the HDD itself.

Could this be related to a maximum supported HDD size for Samsung TVs?

Make sure its formatted using the correct file system. And yes there very well may be a limit on how large a drive can be in that tv. I don't know these things for sure, it's just very common for non computer devices to have these limitations. You MIGHT be able to get away with partitioning the drive into multiple 1tb partitions. So the tv reads it as 5 1tb drives

Samsung TVs do not have a limit on the size of the USB storage device, but there are limits on the number of files and the types of file extensions. If the TV cannot read some files, the following may be the case:

File format compatibility: Not all file types and codecs are supported. For a list of picture, audio, and video files supported by your TV, see this link.

File and folder limits: Samsung TVs can recognize up to 1,000 files in a single folder and no more than 8,000 files or folders on the entire drive. If these limits are exceeded, some files will not be displayed.

It's formatted in exFat, like all my other HDDs. I contacted Samsung directly but they don't have a solution. I get the feeling that the OS of the tv is not their priority at all.

Thank you for the information, but my issue isn't that the TV can't read video files. Instead, some folders appear empty even though they contain videos (typically 5 to 25 files per folder). But if I cut the videos out of these folders and paste them into the root of the HDD, the TV can read them without any problem.

These problematic folders are neither more populated nor have unusual names compared to the ones that work fine, so I’m struggling to understand the cause of this issue.
