Qled randomly turns off

came home from work tonight asked partner if the tv had behaved (the fact im asking this is not good) she has said it has turned itself off twice this evening then just works again. Im very tempted at this point to contact john Lewis and arrange a new model/ brand beavuse this should not be happening on a £800 tv or even £50 tv 

 

model is QE55Q80BATXXU

Hi @jack yates check the Eco settings, Settings-General- Eco Settings  and if activated turn off as that can cause issues.  Do you have  have the latest firmware which is 1430.1 https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/QE55Q80BATXXU/  and can be updated via USB if not available over the air.  check that the connections are secure and if using a surge protector try plugging directly into mains.

if that not the issue try a soft Reset by holding in Power Button on Remote for around 5 seconds until the Tv reboots or unplug from the mains for at least 30 seconds.  if else all fails could try a Factory Reset.

My Samsung TV brings up a notification now and again asking me if I'm still watching. If I don't respond with ok, it turns itself off saving energy. Maybe yours is doing that but you've not noticed the warning come up? I don't have any eco settings turned on.

All my eco settings are switched off and it turned itself off twice within 30 mins of each other

Notifications if you want to keep watching can appear,should only happen after some time though.

If it is not that have you tried the other Troubleshooting. If still issues after doing so best to get in touch with Support in case it is a more serious issue.

Update: ive arranged a full refund from seller as it turned off a few more times by itself. Overall ive really been knocked back by the lag and the poor connection of this tv. Any suggestions for better sets would be appreciated
