@Eutectoid: I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue. If the line in present on all channels and sources then please head to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test. If the line is visible in the sample image then please reach out to our Help Desk via the link below, and an advisor will be able to assist you further, and arrange for the TV to be inspected.

If the TV is over 12 months old, then you can reach out to one of our Support Centres directly to arrange an out of warranty repair. To find your nearest one please check the link below, select 'TV & AV > Television' and enter your post code.

Uhm, that was so funny! I'm from Hungary, so here my answer:
I walked to the factory service center where I was informed of this common fault, the resin dries out at the ribbon cable, so the contacts do not get in contact. Many devices are introduced, most of which improve on the go because the back cover is pressed. The error comes over time, doesn't it happen to be an unplanned obsolescence, does it? Repairing it would cost more than a new device. 😕

I have the same problem with my 3 yr old Samsung 58inch QLED TV with two horizantal black lines in the middle of the screen. Did factory reset, power cycling, picture test and self diagnosis as suggested. But the black horizontal line mainly from the right side remains. Called Samsung Support and as my tv is not in warranty qnymore they reccomended me a service centre who is charging $475.00 plus taxes for replacing the whole panel. I am guessing this is due to the resin drying out issue. Probably buying a new one is my best option, I might get a Hisense, TLC tv in the same price as the repair cost. I have heard about this problem with other Samsung TV as well, but I guess it's known problem that Samsung is refusing to fix.

Yeah, it looks like Samsung is just blowing off all of their customers with this problem. Sounds like a good reason for a class action suit. I hear that in the EU they have a law that requires consumer electronics to at least last a reasonable time or get replaced. Samsung used to make good products but it looks like their Qled technology is garbage.

It cannot be, samsung referred me to a local repair shop, who quoted me $475 plus tax to replace the panel, with 90 days warranty. I would rather buy a new TV.

Do u think LG OLED might be a better option? I wanted to buy a Samsung Frame, but not sure if they also have the same issue of resin drying up.

Don't bother, if ANYONE is reading THIS>..as I have a 2 year old Samsung QN900A 65 TV, that is QLED, or OLED, and HELLO, Horizontal Lines, just after 2 years is yes, unacceptable. THEN, Samsung bury your invoice, as my magically dissapeared from where I had stored it on the "Cloud"...And, and I know I paid for 4 years extended, and they deny. So HELLO "Class Action", would be Lovely, but after forking to close to $4K, yah, a bit PO'd...!!! ALWAYS, get the Extended Warranty, but yah, we are all victims or Our Own Excess..! BooHoo..!! 😫🙄😓
