Hello,
1. Feedback -> The person who designed the TV should be given the feedback that the power cable prevents the users from easily installing TV on a slim wall bracket. Why would you start thinning the TV but have a power cable which is as thick as my old PC is beyond me. It sticks so much out that we are expected to create a custom hole on the wall to accommodate it sticking out.
2. Problem - High pitch noise

A really annoying high pitch noise starts ONLY when I use a smart TV app. Because of this, I had a engineer visit, replaced the original tv with another one and still it happens. It is not coming from speakers as when you mute the speakers you still hear the high pitch noise. Husband tried to troubleshoot this by disconnecting Network cable and other cables and problem still persists. Connecting via Wireless. The reason I bought the TV was because the apps video is upscaled which in turn gives us vibrant video, however the high pitch noise from the board is creating a negative experience. Last I chatted with one of Samsung reps was that they will be escalating the issue -(Thursday 12th) and I have not heard anything since.
I wanted to put this in the community to ask people who have bought an 8K TV and getting high pitch noise when using Apps directly.
PS: This noise disappears when I access any external equipment via input connections like HDMI. so it seems like processing board somewhere!

I had a technician come by a week ago. He updated to software to an update that wasnt released yet. I was currently running the latest 2014.1 firmware update, he updated it to the 2019 update and it seems that everything is now solved No more high pitch noises when using the built in apps.

So i bougth this tv (q800t) last week, and i havent been able to watch netflix as it starts this awful noice when starting apps. Im just wondering if its worth trying to fix or just return it and get other tv models?

The 2019 firmware update fixed it for me.

So if you update your tv to current date the problem returns. That tells me samsung havent been prioritizing this issue at all.

The 2019 update isnt currently been released yet. The newest released firmware is the 2014.1. I had a technician come by with a usb stick with the 2019 update that isnt released yet.

I just updated my Q800 to version 2014. (I’m in Denmark)
Noise is still there, but now with this new version the menus are jumping and feels more glitchi to move around in.
As I sayed earlier, Samsung told me that the High pitched Noise from the TV was normal, and in the acceptible ramte.

Had the same issue as you with the 2014 update. Was told by the customer service in Norway that the high pitch sound was not normal after being in contact with different call support agents many times since November, so they sent two technicians two weeks ago. Just call samsung and ask them to send you the 2019 update and manually install it from a usb drive. It fixes the high pitch noise that comes when using netflix, hbo.. etc. Or just wait for the update to come out.

I've just bought this TV a few days ago and noticed the noise issue immediately. I've talked to two different people at Samsung Support (Denmark). None of them could provide me with the 2019 update or help me any further. Has anyone else had luck obtaining this update?

Same problem, just got at call back from Samsung and I think it was from the first line support. I have to film the problem and then maybe I will get in touch with a technician that can send me the firmware.
It really feels weird that they haven´t released this firmware to the public yet, this is just another bad customer experience and I regret my decision to go with this TV, but at the same time I guerss it will be solved with a new firmware and I will keep it for now and my next phone and TVwill not be from Samsung.

I’ve got the Q95T with the same issue, even with the 2019 firmware. Turning on Led Clear Motion fixes the issue for the smart apps, but makes regular tv unwatchable and dims the tv too much for my liking. Samsung replaced several components but none fixed the issue, after which they stated that it is within product specifications…
