Hi All
Posted previously about my experience with a Q95T and Sonos Arc, and connecting via eARC. On enabling eARC to Auto on the Sound Settings, no sound is output from the device and thats from any source, in built apps/Dolby Atmos/4K Blu etc.
On turning eARC off, sound is restored through the soundbar.
I have contacted Sonos and Samsung directly with both blaming the other party for the issue and that's disappointing.
On discussions with both communities, it now appears that users with the Q80T can connect via eARC, however many users with Q95T and Frame 2020 models cannot get sound via the eARC so potentially a big issue.
This also now sounds like a Samsung issue, as the standard eARC function not talking to the Sonos Arc via one connect, but other Samsung models are talking to Sonos Arc. I have seen evidence of this on a Q80T where eARC is working and the device shows as Reciever (HDMI eARC), on the Q95T, on setting to Auto you get Reciever HDMI.
Can this be escalated to samsung please as quite a lot of users are affected and returning tv's for other mfrs models?
Thanks
Mike

Does anyone has same issue while pairing Sonos to Q70R 2019?

Looks like the UK Q90T firmware 1402.6 has gone live (to download at least). I don't have a Sonos Arc yet so I cannot test this. Could some brave soul give it ago and see if it fixes the issue?

Installed my Q80T yesterday and the Arc is arriving later today, I'm downloading the firmware update now so will feedback later

I have the QE65Q70T and it's only connected to the Sonos Arc, nothing else. I just updated to the latest TV firmware (1402.6) and the two of them still don't collaborate over eARC. The sound keeps coming and going, no matter what configuration I use. I've disabled eARC, Dolby Atmos supprt, all kinds settings for auto/passthrough/you name it; the sound still keeps coming and going every few seconds. Absolutely unusable combination over eARC (works fine over optical of course, but that has it's obvious drawbacks).
I do notice, when observing the settings in the TV that it keeps switching between HDMI (Arc) and HDMI (eARC) at the same time as the sound comes and goes. I assume that's where the problem is - that it can't agree on which connection to use?
It's a shame, I've been waiting for this upgrade for quite some time and I still have never gotten to try the Atmos part of the Sonos. 😞

I have installed the update 1402.6 and it is working correctly over e-ARC.

I’ve just tried it here, in the UK with my Q95T and it’s not finding the update? Going to try via USB

WOOP WOOP WOOP!
It. All. Works.
I downloaded the file via USB as the TV isn't finding the update. I've got the 75" Q95T. Installed the update. Turned off both the Sonos Arc and TV and left a few minutes.
The sound had reset itself to TV Speaker. I went into the Settings menu, Sound, Expert Settings and enabled e-Arc Auto. I then went back and see on the sound outputs "HDMI-eARC" which I've not seen before.
I chose that setting. And it's STABLE. I went into my Apple TV (latest gen), into Netflix, and chose "Away" as it's got a Dolby Atmos soundtrack.
I then went into my iPhone Sonos app. Went to System / About and I finally not only see Dolby Atmos logo (which was there even with the previous firmware, even though it was 5.1) but now see Dolby Atmos in the About My System.
Woop woop! 🙂
ps: Not sure what to do with my life now. I've checked this page and the Samsung support pages daily for weeks. Wow .. there's people outside and trees and things ...

I have read Apple TV does not passthrough audio and only nvidia shield does..do you know if you play a truehd track it is sent to the Sonos Arc?

I'll gladly try one if you tell me where to try. I've got Plex, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney Plus ...

The idea would be trying a movie with truehd in Plex and check if the server does not transcode.
