Picture off mode closes YouTube app.

Hey, I got a Samsung TV primarily to play with YouTube with the picture off mode, but for some reason whenever I turn on picture off mode, the YouTube app closes. This doesn't happen with other media apps, only YouTube. Anyone have any idea how I'd fix this?

Hi @Mjspepsihair, congrats on new TV. Due to the nature of many third party apps, they'll only function while the display is enabled. This does apply to the YouTube app on your TV if you're using the free version. However, if you're using YouTube Premium, an option to play it in the background will be available on the app.

Thank you for the reply, but I do have YouTube premium and it still doesn't work. It works on my other Samsung TV and my phone, but not the new TV

Can we please get an update on this? Because as it stands, the screen is getting damaged when using YouTube with the screen on...

I have the same problem on my Q60D. I have YouTube premium, but app closes when I enter picture off mode.

Same on QE55QNX1D, youtube app turns off when I turn off picture. On my older TV UE55TU7172 it works properly and app is running with picture off. Also when I use browser for youtube it keeps playing even without premium.
