I used to be able to cast my PC to my Samsung 8 Series (65) TV with no problem. In the past few months, something has changed. It says it connects to the TV the screen flashes black on the TV like its connecting and then it immediately disconnects.
Nothing has changed as far as the devices physically. I have the same TV and I have the same PC that I used to connect to it.
I have tried to power down both devices and try again but that has not worked.
The PC claims that it is connected but on the TV it is not. Since I was able to do it before, this tells me that somewhere an update has changed this process. Any help?

So sorry it took me so long to reply. I appreciate you responding. in the past I would “add a device”…. it would discover my TV, I would click on it, then on my TV it would say “connecting to Lori D”, and then it acts like it is connecting but it flashes and goes back to the TV screen, not showing the PC screen. To answer your questions from your reply, The TV does not show up in the PC device manager. It also does not show up if you right click on a file and you cannot send it to the TV. In the past I have always had to remove the TV from the device list and go back through that process to get it to connect. I did this all the time. But now it disconnects immediately. It’s the same TV and it’s the same laptop, and it really makes me wonder if it has something to do with a software update. The TV has the latest software update. I am stumped.

Hi
I'm having the same issue
previously laptop used to connect but now it disconnects straight away.
did you find out a way to fix the issue??

Unfortunately no, I have not found an answer to why my Samsung TV immediately disconnects from my PC now when it used to not do that. I gave up and decided for the few times that I do use that feature I just run a longer HDMI cord straight from the hub to the PC. I think it’s sad that no one else has come up with a solution. Nothing had changed and it makes me wonder if it was a Windows issue. I have not upgraded my windows yet, so I cannot say if that might help. Sorry I didn’t give you the answer you were looking for but if you find one, please come back to this thread and let me know. 🙂

You might have fixed this issue already but I have the exact same TV and had the exact same problem for past few weeks. Haven't connected my laptop to my tv for a long time so didn't even know why it was not connecting.
Literally tried everything but the only thing that fixed this for me was to update my windows.
I have windows 11 and had 21H2 and updated it to 22H2 and it worked like magic.
Hope you got yours fixed. I spent way too much time on this when the only problem was the update... :'(

I just upgraded from windows 11 21H2 to 22H2. I noticed with 21H2 that casting would drop within seconds of connecting and sometimes also would freeze/hang when attempting to connect to my Samsung TV. After upgrading I have not experienced any issues. I will reply to this thread if I do have future issues. I am also using a Lenovo. Thanks for this solution!!!
