I have a UN65KU6500 TV and a Sony receiver connected with HDMI and use ARC which is working fine. I recently got an HDMI switch to add additional HDMI inputs. The switch seems to be incompatible with ARC. As soon as I connect an HDMI cable from the switch to any HDMI port on the TV or on the receiver ARC immediately stops working. Even if neither the TV or receiver are on the input the switch is connected to, ARC doesn't work anymore. If I unplug the switch, ARC works again. Can a device like that cause some kind of ARC incompatibility? I guess the only option is don't use the HDMI switch?

Yes it is powered. The same issue happens even when the power cord isn't plugged in though which was interesting to see. As soon as an HDMI cable is connected between the TV or receiver to the switch output, ARC just dies immediately.

Hi @TStorm. I am having the same issue with my hdmi splitter and my TU8000. Have you been able to find a fix for this? I couldn’t get it to work properly no matter what.

Nope - no solution. I found a very old HDMI switch that I had in storage and tried hooking that one up and ARC is working fine so it's definitely just the specific (newer) HDMI switch that seems to be incompatible.

Well in this case I will have to return the device, thanks for replying. I am glad you found am alternative solution.
