Passthrough audio not available / Grayed out S95D

Hey, 

so I’m using the S95D since a couple of months with a Sonos surround setup connected via eARC. Everything worked perfectly until I recently saw that the passthrough audio isn’t selected anymore in the sound settings and isn’t available anymore either (it’s grayed out now). Only auto and pcm are available now. 

 

Has anyone experienced something similar and found a solution?

I don't know if this is relevant to your question. But this I found on Reddit. Hope it helps.

"I am only starting to get into the world of soundbars, but I believe that passthrough is if you connect a device to a soundbar and then to the TV.

So if you have a PS5, you would normally connect it to the TVs HDMI 2.1 port (if your TV has one), and then connect the soundbar to the TVs ARC/eARC HDMI port.

In passthrough mode you would connect your PS5 to the soundbar, and then connect the soundbar to the TV, so the soundbar would sent the video signal to the TV.

Maybe passthrough is greyed out because you dont have any device for which the soundbar will act as passthrough?

So you previously could select passthrough and updates since you last checked if the setting grey out.

Hey, 

yes exactly, I had set it to passthrough which worked perfectly. Now it was set to auto and passthrough is not available anymore. In the Sonos app the audio format is always displayed. Since this happed the format that is play out is „dolby multichannel pcm 5.1“ instead of pure 5.1. Atmos at least seem to work tough.

Thanks. What does soundbar display say, it's usually tiny and you need to be near it and flick inputs or channels to get it to momentarily show what's going on

The soundbar itself doesn’t have a display fortunately, just a tiny LED. The LED is on and white has usual.

Thank you, yes it looks almost the same for me but pass-through is grayed out and when I click on it it say „this feature is not available“.

An option you could try is power down, unplug, replug, power on, and see beyond that reset the TV and Soundbar.
