Just got done talking with Samsung Support to fix a Qled 6 for having Intermittent issues. We only the tv for a little more than a year. The tech walked me through the troubleshooting steps. The same troubleshooting steps that I’ve found on other online threads that deals with this issue:

-Turn on/ turn off

-Make tv software is up to date

-And then do complete reset.

After all that. The issue persisted. And the tech automatically says that I will need to replace the One Connect box and the invisible cable wire!

To which I asked if this is a known issue with the Qled and the One Connect box?

Tech replies that this is “not” a known issue to them!

Of course I called “Bull*****”!

Really?  Not a known issue? But the remedy that you automatically prescribed to me is to get a new one connect box!

You didn’t tell me that it could be a display issue. Or any other issue. You just gave me one recommendation. And that is to get a new One Connect Box. But yet, it’s not a known issue to you?!

If its not a known issue to you then Samsung must be trying real hard to play deaf and dumb. Because the moment I google one connect issues. There multiple threads listing troubleshooting advices for it!!

And the kicker?  The new One Connect box will cost you $500!!

Might as well by myself a brand new tv!!

My Samsung 55 inch Q700 8k went dead after 9 months. Having paid 2k for a tv I was disappointed but thought all well and good as under warranty. After weeks of phone calls and being told I’d not provided proof of purchase (I’d registered product via tech support the week I bought it and sent 6 email of Currys receipt after fault appeared) they finally agreed to send out a technician. Tv was not repairable and once again told I’d not provided receipt. After sending for what seemed like the 100th time they offered what appeared a fair solution.. 65inch QE65QN95AATXXU.

as the mount I had wasn’t suitable, I spent £275 on wall mount and a further £150 for fitting by a well established local company. All was good for 1h when screen would cut off making tv unwatchable. Message indicated issue with connect box. Rang for advice. I was told that troubleshooting guidelines indicated that I must take the socket out of the back of the tv. This is impossible in my case as mounting covers it.. I explained to the representative and only solution was to pay someone to come out to look at it.

Frankly I’m disgusted.. 8 weeks of no tv and constant hassle and this was best Samsung could come up with. I’m stuck with a tv that’s not working and further bills.  Has put me off buying Samsung again.

Seems that connect box is issue for many. Wish I’d read this before getting.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a class action lawsuit against Samsung over the one connect box. I had three fail on me in the first 2 years and the third was out of warranty and cost $500 to replace, and then that failed. There are many similar complaints online. It is a sealed plastic box with no ventilation so i assume it has heat problems, though could be bad capacitors, as Samsung has been sued over those in the past.

Currently having issues with my Samsung QE65Q7xx,
No input from all HDMIs, although device name comes up, which mean it recognized the device.

Since being out of waranty for excess of 18 months, Samsung isnt covering repairs.
From reading comments on the forum, this is looking like One Connect Box or Invisible cable issue, which is most likely to set me back up to £800 to fix. TV itself costs £2,800 late 2018.

Its painful to know Samsung is aware of this issue and I'm sure it is well calculated that this issue seem to surface a lot as soon as their manufacturer's waranty expires. I'm of the opinion that the government should get involved, i.e via Trade standard or whatever government body able to prevent these big corporations from ripping people off their hard earned money just to enrish themselves, and showing no sense of accountability whatsoever.

I will be pursuing this through an MP in the UK, I dont mind if it takes a month or a year or more to get somewhere with this, Samsung shouldnt get away with this, its too much! I've counted over 5500 users raise this similar concern on this community forum and other channels. Multiply that by an average of £1,000 please do the math! I'm sure you no one can put a cost to how much stress and mental health instabilities that'll stem from these also.

If anyone else have any information on how to push this early, please find a way to reach out, we really need to come together to do something about this!
