My good neighbour just bought a UE43AU7100 to use in a modest home cinema set-up (using a very nice traditional Hi-Fi).
This model TV has no RCA audio out, nor does it have a headphone socket.
The only audio output is the Optical "Toslink" socket. So, I bought them a DAC with optical input.
I set the TV menu to output via the Optical and set it to PCM.
No sound at all came out of the DAC. I thought the DAC might have been faulty, so I bought another one of a different make. Same result. The RCA input cable to the (Technics) Amp has been tested and is all good.
Does anyone know what might be the problem here please?
