Problems with Denon home 550 sound bar

I have a qe43q60aauxxu Samsung 43 inch q60 tv. I bought a Denon home 550 sound bar, which worked for about 24 hours. I now can’t get the tv to recognise the sound bar so either there is no sound or it defaults to tv speaker.

initialky it worked if I toggled the hdmi/earc tag to off and back to auto, however when I do that now the hdmi sound output simply disappears for the list of sound outputs. 

I tried the hdmi diagnostic which suggested a cable issue. I switched to a replacement ultra fast hdmi cable which made no difference.

i have factory reset the tv (and reinstalled all my apps) and it made no difference.

any suggestions?

Have you tried going to settings, sound, and then expert settings and then changing digital audio output to pass-through?

Pass through is grayed out. I tried PCM but that made no difference

Okay two things to try one is changing the source on the TV to say the blu ray player or games console etc and then trying to put the digital audio output to pass-through.

The other thing is to double check that the hdmi cable is plugged into the ARC or eARC hdmi slot on the back of the TV.

Tried both of those but sadly no success. 

I get about a second of sound when I go to expert settings and toggle HDMI-eARC mode off and then back to auto, afterwards silence!

Hi,

I have the same issue with my 50qn90c TV. No sound with the denon home 550.

What solution Can you propose ?

Sound work with TV receiver plug in HDMI in off thé soundbar  but no sound from other sources connected to the TV including TV itself.

I am not really sure what to suggest other than double check you have the hdmi cable in the correct hdmi slot for both the soundbar and TV.

That's worked for me : I have donne thèse steps.

Replace the HDMI for earc cable with a better one (not a perfect one but with golden connector)

Unplug device plug in HDMI in of the home 550 (if any).

Turn on TV and leave sound options to auto.

In heos app reconfigure TV in the options (i am not at home so i have no Access to the app right now).

Sound was back in pcm but thé passthough was still greyed out. After a while the passthough was back and available.

I'm gonna buy a true cable because I think it will be issues with High quality content (atmos...).
