Hi,

I've got my PC connected via an HDMI 2.0 cable to my Samsung Q95A TV (the PC is also connected to a 1440p monitor. This has been working fine for about a year.

I recently upgraded my GPU from an NVIDIA GeForce 1080 TI to a 4080. This new setup worked for maybe a week before the problems started. First, I was unable to enable HDR, but Game Mode was working. A day or so later, Game Mode also stopped working. I can't enable input signal plus either. Doing any of these things causes the TV to immediately lose signal to the PC. This is at 4K/60hz.

I tried playing around with resolution settings, using a different 2.0 cable, etc., but nothing works. I can still watch TV on my PC as long as I don't put it into Game Mode or enable input signal plus. I am waiting for a 48gbps cable to see if that maybe solves the problem, but I've seen a lot of threads about this kind of issue with the 3000-series cards and absolutely nothing that indicates Samsung has solved it.

I tried contracting Samsung support, unfortunately the chat was unhelpful and they are unable to provide remote assistance in a language I speak very well.

Has anyone managed to fix this with a 3000 or 4000-series NVIDIA GPU? Is my TV now just an expensive brick?

Unfortunately no 😕 also on PC i mostly play in 1440p @120Hz so i had it like this nvidia control panel, color depth i dont even care anymore 😄 but i found out that 4k doesnt work at all ... only way it works is if its in the other mode where theres like 2x4k blabla and theres only option for 60hz 😞

But what bothers me more is that PS5 works perfectly fine full RGB 4k 120hz VRR and HDR withou any problems.

Oh and yes i tried the HDMI eArc solution and it didnt do nothing, i even tried to use the PS5 original hdmi 2.1 cable wich is like 1m long to eliminate cable problems ...

On nvidia forum i found discussion about this problem and someone said that its a voltage problem of the graphics card ...

Shame i dont have another hdmi 2.1 tv or monitor to test if its samsung problem or not.

But still PS5 works perfec without any signal loss or screen flickering.

So i finally managed to solve my problem ... PC was connected with 3m long 8k -  48Gbps certified cable, here in czech its like 20$ but it seems like not all manufacturers sells what they declare .... bought another one from different brand wich was like 55$, only 2m long, booted pc and tv with cable disconnected, waited a bit and after connecting the new cable it immediatly recognized TV and switched to game mode 4k@120hz  VRR and HDR, only thing i needed to change was color depth from 8 to 10bit wich is max this TV supports.

Now everything works, played Destiny 2 for like 8 hours that day and no screen flickering, turning off / on and no signal signal imput messages :smiling-face:

So glad i dont need to get rid of this TV :smiling-face:

Good luck, I hope this works for you! A new cable fixed the problem for me as well, but it only worked for about a week.

Hey I struggled with this a couple times too. Seemingly first time I used game mode/input signal plus it all worked then it randomly stopped. I was getting driven up the wall going insane trying to figure out fixes and finally found one that works for me. This is for the QN85B and RTX 3080 but I assume it'll apply to any similar samsung TV.

If game mode or input signal plus breaks / causes black screen / or says in cannot detect input signal, you'll need another monitor hooked up to your PC at the same time as your TV is. If it gives you an error when you switch to game mode or input signal plus, simply go back to your other monitor and:
- Right Click on Desktop
- Display Settings
- Select your TV screen on the top selection: eg. 1, 2, etc."
- Under "Multiple Displays" click on the drop down menu and select "Extend these displays"

This is what fixed it for me. I can play on game mode or without, at 120Hz. Good luck all.

Does it still work for you? Would you mind sharing what cable e you using? I bought 2 different cables on Amazon with reviews confirming it working 4K 120 Hz but no luck...

Hey, dunno if i can post it here :face-with-tears-of-joy: but whatever if it helps :smiling-face:

Its from Inakustik Premium 2 HDMI 2.1 bought specificaly 2m long ... its certified even for 10k, might have gone little overkill :face-with-tears-of-joy: but it works ... oh and also be aware of different nvidia drivers, some are real mess 😞 right now im on 537.13 and everythings fine ... hope it helps 😉

I am having these problems on my Samsung qn90c with my pc running an RTX4080 I have tried the extended desktop trick and this did nothing for me. Input signal plus is now constantly greyed out on the pc input. I wanted to remove pc from the tv to get the tv to scan and find it again but the but I cam find no way to remove it from sources even when it has been physically disconnected, if I can not find a fix a may have to sell my newly built gaming pc and give up on pc gaming. 😢
