My Samsung TV won't turn on!

The red light appears when it's off and it takes many tries for me to be able to turn it on. Still when the red light disappears, which means the TV is on, there is no display or sound. The remote doesn't work or the methods of resetting it. Even when i manage to turn it on,the display is pitch black.I have no control on my TV for a month now and I don't know what to do. I have been experiencing some issues with the TV for a couple of months, such as:lagging/buffering/auto-disconnect from the wifi but never something like this. I'm so disappointed and don't know what to do.(power sockets and cables are connected and working fine)

Hi @Paranoid72  Whilst you have said you have chrecked connections just make sure they are secure , sometimes power cable can become a bit loose.  If you a red light the Tv is turning on, can you not access any memu via the Remote? Firstly check there is no issue with Remote https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/tv-audio-video/my-tv-remote-isnt-working/     Pairing for your set  should involve holding Remote 12 inches  from sensor and then press and hold the Return and Play/Pause buttons simultaneously for at least 3 seconds.  If still cannot access any Menu after pressing Home Button  I would you to disconnect cables and switch Tv off for around 5 minutes before connecting again. see more information here https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/tv-audio-video/my-tv-wont-turn-on/

As far as wifi connection issues go possible fix is to  reset router  (switching off at mains)   and or change the DNS settings:

Go to  Network-Network Settings-DNS Settings.   Change from Automatic to   to 8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4. or 4.2.2.1

If no solution to the  Tv  turning on you would advise to contact either Samsung Support or  your retailer .

Hi and thanks for the answer.
I have to also include this
Sometimes the logo:Samsung Smart TV appears when I manage to turn it on.(I can see the TV is on but no image). Just now I switched the plug and it only turns on with the remote(again no display) , but when I try to turn it off again it restarts on its self(like it's stuck on a loop).

I believe it happened after the last update. Happened about August when I finally got to mount the TV after some reno in a house I just moved into. Since then I barely ever get the splash Samsung smart TV screen on power up like my other Samsung tv's ( 32"). TV sees the remote as the red light goes on and off, maybe the TV screen might flicker. Other than that, nothing happens. If I use the power button on the bottom of the TV it is a ***** shoot if the TV will power up. Now if it does it will only come on with the Home screen. But you cant do anything until the picture goes to the HDMI feed. I only use the unit WiFi now so this is annoying. Anyone have any ideas? And to cut out the basic questions... Im a 30 year cable tv guy... so I know its software or something with the TV itself.

Hi@Freegameva  Just checking that you have ther latest firmware  for your set, you do not name the model.   However you obviously have the technical knowledge and would assume you have made the necessary checks.  Therefore you may well need to get in touch with Samsung Support or your retailer. Somerimes Remote Assistance can pinpoint the issue.

UN55NU6900 is the model. And according to the TV when I check the software update it states everything is to date.

@Freegameva  Are you based in the US as that is an American model.   Whilst everyone is welcome to contribute the community can only provide specialised support for Uk/Ireland.  i.e.  Receiving further advice/resolution from  Av specialists.

However I have checked and the latest firmware for your model is 1310.4  (released November) which can be downloaded  via USB.   https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/2018-uhd-smart-tv-nu6900 Updates  are sometimes released OTA at a later date.

Never noticed the EU in the group. I didn't limit my search and was only looking for my issue. Not thinking it would matter sale country.

I would suggest you try the 1310.4 firmware and if still problem you may wish to visit the Us community  https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Samsung-Community/ct-p/us

You can  contact Samsung support here https://www.samsung.com/us/support/  or possibly seek redress from retailer.
