Since your latest update, the Daily Board stays always on after engaging with Alexa. The timeout is not working. Please fix this because everytime I use Alexa, the Daily Board stays on for hours and the screen stays on! I don't understand why you can't just simply disable it... Before, I could speak to my switch off TV, the Alexa blue strip would pop up on a black screen. Great. You then pushed the update with the Daily Board. The Daily Board pops up everytime you say Alexa... Ridiculous. Even at 3, 4 am when you whisper to your TV, it would wake the screen up and lit the whole room. The Daily Board would dissappear after 30 second. Ridiculous. Now, the Daily Board stays on the screen indefinate which is annoying especially at night. The timeout for the Daily Board 30 seconds is not working either. It's stays on for hours until I find a remote and switch it off because of your update. I spent a lot of money on this TV so please fix it Samsung. Thanks. I want my TV the way it was. I want to say Alexa, TV screen stays OFF, maybe the blue Alexa line shows up so you know it's reacting but why the whole screen needs to lit up like a Christmas Tree. Fix it, please.

Hi, unfortunately no. However I contacted Samsung support on 0800 995 1079. At first they were reluctant to help only recommending that I turn off the microphone which isn’t a fix but a workaround. If you do this Alexa can’t hear you and therefore won’t start up the daily board. Instead you have to use the mic button on the remote. Not being happy with this I called them back today complaining and they agreed to help me. So they basically took over the TV remotely, I don’t know what they done. They told me to unplug the TV for 10 seconds then plug it back in again. Then I was told to press the one button and hold it down until the Knox logo came up and the main screen/home menu appeared. They then told me to turn off the TV and try commanding Alexa. The daily board came back up and everything worked fine as it used to. There was an edit option in the bottom right hand corner and I could turn widgets off and the time out length. I changed it to 30 secs and it timed out. BUT… then the operator told me to do another factory reset but this just brought back the problem and my TV is still in the same state with its problems all over again. They have escalated it and will (hopefully) get back to me soon. 

if you ask me it’s a problem with Alexa or their software relating to Alexa… but I’m no expert. 

I also noticed when I was going through the reset process that when it was linking to Amazon it was recognising my TV as a QLED with far field voice… my TV IS an OLED… not sure what far field voice is. 

I’ve since tried to unplug the TV and after 10 secs press and hold the power button again but it’s still the same. 

as soon as they come back to me with a fix I’ll let you all know.

Oh my goodness. Thank you for this detailed description. The fact that you took your time, called them, and then came back and shared this with us is truly helpful. Thank you! Still no news, if I haven’t heard anything by Friday I’ll call them again
