Hello folks,

As some of you have noticed in your respective TVs, if you have Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) enabled (e.g. soundbar) you can't switch to a Bluetooth device (e.g. headphones) because it immediately switches back to the hdmi arc input. The only workaround is to disable/enable Anynet every time you want to use a BT device.

At least, that is what is happening on my Q70R and I am aware that others have complained as well.

This is very annoying and I would like to report this bug to Samsung for a possible fix. Does anyone know how to properly reach them? Confirmation of this bug on this post in other TV models is also helpful to make Samsung aware of it.

Many thanks!

Having thought about this for a few weeks, I suspect it isn't that Samsung doesn't want to fix the issue. I suspect they can't which is surprising considering Samsung's reputation for cutting edge devices.

Impressive how they can simply ignore their customers. My next TV is not going to be a Samsung. I can't believe this has been going on for years.

Same problem on my 75" 2 years old TV. An absolute joke that they can just ignore us. I will try to get in touch with tech support, see what they say.

Strangely enough today I switched on my bluetooth headphones, didn’t touch the CEC setting and it’s working….!

Was there an update?

I’m on a 2017 Frame TV and every time I wanted to use bluetooth headphones with my samsung tv and my sonos beam over hdmi-arc I’d have to disable CEC.

Very strange

Hi there, just to let you know my issue is still unresolved. I contacted Samsung via Twitter and thry basically told me that it's Sonos' fault and then they ignored my replies

Absolute garbage - nothing to do with the Sonos. I recently purchased a QE50Q60 TV and connected it to the Sonos Sound Bar that was on the TV with the problem (this has now been relegated to the kitchen with no sound bar) and everything works exactly as it should do. I can simply select headphones for the audio output and everything works. So very obvious that it’s a SW problem on this particular range of TVs.

I agree 100% but Samsung just prefers to blame 3rd parties. It's simply easier.

I also bought a QE65R in 2020 and with a Sonos Arc I have the same problem. Thanks to the people on this forum I (only now) know a workaround.

This is from Samsung website: "What is Anynet+ on your Samsung TV: Control an external device connected via Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) with the remote control."

Considering the above explanation, statements like "Sonos is to blame for taking control of the sound output" become hilarious.

After 2 years without any solution for this issue (critical for people with small kids), my next TV will not be Samsung.
