Hello Guys,
im new here. i have an issues i have been speaking to Samsung tech support about and i have been getting mixed opinions.
i have 3 HDMI devices connected to my QE55Q7FAM TV.
the issue i have is that when i go into SOURCE all devices have a red power symbol and if i select them they power on the device, i can then control them with all functions via the samsung remote, however this is where i have a problem, i am unable to power them down?
am i doing something wrong? How do i turn them off via the samsung remote/TV?
i have spoken to all 3 companies of each device and they pretty much say the same thing, that the power is just a cycle, so what turns them on will turn them off. But how do i do this?
HELP!!!

Hi @Advanceduser.
What happens If you go back into Source and select one of the active devices again? Does this have any effect?

If you put your TV into standby, do the connected devices stay on or power down @Advanceduser?

Connected to Samsung Q9FN we have (Freesat) Foxsat HDR-500G and (Freeview) HDR-1800
As with our previous TV (Samsung F8000), they do not respond to Anynet, nor did they respond to an earlier Panasonic TV which had less, but more reliable and foolproof, functions.
I have always assumed that this was because the Humax boxes are not designed to respond to CEC, which seems to be indicated by the fact that they have no settings for CEC.
The generic Samsung 'help' is hopeless and Customer Services try their best but don't know much about TV functions so
it is really left to each user and trial and error.
The situation is complicated by various bugs, which I doubt will ever be acknowledged let alone corrected by Samsung.
Apart from various workarounds needed to evade TVPlus, we have already found the following:-
Bugs found so far (in the first 3 days of use!)
From time to time the Home button becomes ineffective (as reported in this forum by another user)
The Re-order function for Favourite Channels fails to work after a couple of moves.
The 'smart' remote is not muchg use for accessory boxes so, as with F8000, it is well worthwhile to invest in a universal remote which can both learn from original remotes and provide a facility for macros (chains of user selected commands for navigating the Samsung menus)
