My Samsung 46F8005 lost its ability to connect to the cabled internet. The Wi-fi connection still works - both from the router and from my mobile phone but the speed is much better on cable due to bad network and Wi-fi coverage, so I would prefer to get the cable connection up running again.

I have tried the following fixes found here and in Samsung support:

  1. Resetting the router
  2. Resetting the TV by pressing the off button for a long period.
  3. Entering 8 8 4 4  and 8 8 0 0 as DNS address
  4. Looking for updates, I apparently have the newest version 1436
