I bought a Q80T a couple of days ago and have noticed a really annoying issue when using the tv with the combination of HDR and game mode.
I'm fairly certain this is a software bug in the TV since I can reproduce this issue with 100% accuracy, and it happens on the dot at the same moment every time. It's basically on a timer.
Basically when the game is displaying a HDR signal and game mode is enabled, exactly after 6 minutes the brightness of the TV suddenly drops by around 20 (50 -> 30). The value of brightness setting doesn't actually change however. Messing with the brightness setting does not restore the brightness to it's original state, but changing the local dimming setting from standard to low and then back to standard does. Switching game mode off and then back on also fixes the issue, but then it happens again EXACTLY after 6 minutes (I've timed this with a stopwatch).
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Or can someone maybe test this on their TV to see if you can reproduce it?
Exact repro steps on how I can reproduce this 100% of the time on the PS4 Pro:
Some other notes: The PS4 has a screensaver that basically dims the screen if it is idle for a while. This is not the cause of this, this happens even when the console is in active use and the brightness can be restored temporarily by changing the local dimming setting like described above. I have not managed to reproduce this issue with game mode off, so it seems to be related to game mode.

It has never been released in the EU. A mod told me that it was pulled in testing... he doesn't know why. Should be coming soon-ish though.

Stopped checking this thread because of how toxic it was getting, but this is now beyond ridiculous. Perhaps discussion should continue on another forum with actual moderators? (Like AVS Forum or AV Forums.)

I've decided to return my Q90T today.
4K120 VRR not fully working, several issues with GameMode,... And to top it off, no official statements from Samsung. It's like they don't care at all.

4k120fps not fully working?? Did you checked youtube? I've seen that it's working. Wich tv you go for instead?

On to Suriya topic, I do agree with the fake one, there is 0 possibility that someone else besides the customer support will contact any customer, let alone send him a "beta" software update to test.
Beta software updates are still considered as potentially dangerous for your hardware, they can literally brick your TV to unrecoverable state. Only people who actually receive them are the QA department which have the necessary measurement tools and equipment to perform adequate testing and compatibility checks with ALL supported TV Models and not send it to some random FRAUD which owns 1 TV Model and asks for donations.
I don't know how someone can actually believe this *****. Sometimes I think there are people with closer IQ to penguins than an actual average-developed human being.

This is the last place I would have imagined such childish behavior and it only adds insult to injury from having a malfunctioning TV. I hope that the update does not take long to launch in Europe so that I will not see this forum again.

There are several people reporting on that same YT video that it's not working on their TV, evem with several high quality HDMI 2.1 cables.
I'm just going to return it and wait till mid November. If by that time Samsung hasn't resolved most of the issues, I'm going to take the risk and buy a CX.
I'd rather enjoy gaming at its best with burn-in risk, than this garbage show.
Samsung is one of the top tier electronic companies in the world, but yet they don't know how to communicate with the community and fix basic features like local dimming and VRR.
